TelKen Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 Using fs9 for Multiplay, I now have added Ventrilo and FSHost, using both for serving and client (myself). My problem is with only myself a maybe 2 friends flying, my fps is very slow. Having 2 computers I have been trying, without success so far, to run FSHost and Ventrilo, on this spare computer. With the thought this may help spread the load, both computers share a LAN connection, using a DLink Router/Modem 504T. Have set up the Port Forwarding on the main computer OK, but not sure what is needed on the secondary one. Is it possible, that FSuipc and FSWide could assist in enabling my plan, can anyone please advise. Thanks to any, who can advise. :)

There are, I know, on-line flyers who have Squawkbox running on a client PC, talking to FS on the other via both multiplayer and WideFS (multiplayer for other users aircraft, WideFS for the FSUIPC connection for weather and user aircraft radar reporting). Is it possible, that FSuipc and FSWide could assist in enabling my plan, can anyone please advise. FSUIPC and WideFS are only of use to programs using the FSUIPC interface. Whether yours do or not I don't know. Regards Pete
TelKen Posted February 2, 2006 Author Report Posted February 2, 2006 Thanks Pete for the very quick answer, appreciate that. Being a newcomer to Multiplay, there is a lot to learn and understand. But I have now another course of action to follow in my quest. To find if the relevent programs can use the FSUIPC interface. Thanks for your help. TK
TelKen Posted February 7, 2006 Author Report Posted February 7, 2006 Just a follow up, I've found an answer with a small restriction. Insteads of using Ventrilo, Teamspeak, or Roger Wilco, yes I've tried all those, none will do what I require, I've found that Skype does a fantastic job, superb Audio quality, and its free! The restriction is that for all Multi-Flyers to use it, they need to join as a conference group, before loading fs2004/fs2002. At least it works that way for me and friends. There may be an easier way, but till we find it, we'll use it the stated way. And it has no hit on the fps rate, I'm now running with no trouble at 25fps+ as a server host on MP, with Audio. HTHs others. Ken.
