flying83 Posted March 17, 2006 Report Posted March 17, 2006 Dear Peter, At first I want to thank you for the things you have acchieved! Secondly, I'm bothered with this irritating question. I'm building a Cessna 172 flightsimulator out of an original Frasca 122 simulator. I;m using WideFS, FSUIPC and Project MAgenta, I;m realy enjoying this way of flightsimulator experience. Only the thing which I cant stand is that I';m not able to connect my propellor pitch and mixture. These are original levers from the original cockpit and are working with Potmeters. The throttle is already working, only the software doesnt allow the mixture and pitch options. Is there any update available for these two functions? I;m looking forward to your reaction!! kind regards Martijn Mol FST Flight Incentives

Is there any update available for these two functions? Sorry, I don't understand you. what software? If you are using Microsoft FS (are you?), then the prop pitch and mixture controls are part of the basic FS design and have been available in most versions of FS I can remember. What sort of "update" are you talking about? FS supports up to 4 throttles, 4 prop pitch controls and 4 mixture controls, separately for up to 4 engines. It also provides a generic set which control one or more engines from one input according to engine selection facilities 9like E+1 2 3 4). All these are assignable in FS's own assignment facilities. Are you looking there? Or are you using FSUIPC's recent axis assignment facilities? You do really need to explain a little more about what you are doing and how you are doing it, and what the problem is. Regards Pete
flying83 Posted March 21, 2006 Author Report Posted March 21, 2006 Thank you for your reply, the problem i have, is that i cant install my propeller pitch and mixture levers. It is available in FS but the step from actual lever to the software is the problem. for example, when i want to install my mixture lever, i connect it to the simboard and ater that i have to configurate it in the software program which is simboard control panel. I can give the simboard control an assignment for example on the simboard: potentiometer 18 and 19 controlls the thrust lever, potentiometer 21 and 22 controlls the mixture, and 24 and 25 controls the pitch. I have installed the thrust lever, configurated it and it is fully operational. But now there comes the problem.. I cant give the mixture lever the assignment in the simboard control panel. because in the simboard control panel there isn;t an option to give the lever these assignment.. same for the prop.pitch. do you have any idea what i can do about this?? I hope i have made myself a little bit more clear. hope you can help me. regards martijn.

Don't the makers of this "simboard" (which I've never heard of, sorry) provide any support? It sounds like a purely hardware or hardware driver problem to me. If the levers aren't seen by Windows, in its "Game Controllers" applet, then they cannot be allocated in FS. Neither Windows nor FS treat any axes as being solely dedicated to any one use in any case. You don't make a "mixture" lever work, you make a "lever" work. THEN you go into FS and assign it to the mixture. I've no idea what this "simboard control panel" is or does for you. Sorry. I hope i have made myself a little bit more clear. Only in the sense that you are using some third party hardware and hardware drivers which you cannot make work. I'm still not clear why you are asking here, you need support from the makers. Once Windows can see your controls, then so will FS and so will FSUIPC. Otherwise there's no way you can allocate them for anything. Regards, Pete
flying83 Posted March 22, 2006 Author Report Posted March 22, 2006 hi peter, thanks for the help anyway. I;m realy wondering what it culd be then, one thing for sure, it hasn't got anything to do with FS or FSUIPC. So.. now anticipating on the next software:) thanks and regards martijn

Don't you have any information on this "simboard" thing? I've never even heard of it. If you actually paid for it then you should be able to get help from whoever supplied it or designed it. Regards, Pete
tuomas Posted March 26, 2006 Report Posted March 26, 2006 Simboards is probably http://www.flightdecktechnology.com/ (appears to be down right now) - and yes, it's their software and their support you should ask questions from, since that's where you put your money into as well :) How are you liking the hardware by the way? The software looks very nice from what I tested it quickly without hardware. The price is a bit steep for me, but it looked quite polished. //Tuomas
flying83 Posted March 27, 2006 Author Report Posted March 27, 2006 THe hardware still hasn;t let me down.. easy to install.. what the prices concernes.. my boss is paying so i don;t have to worrie about that part:P the software is very friendly to work with, you connect the wire on the board, give it an assignment in the software and its working,,, realy perfect for someone like me who isn;t best friends with computers:P well.. hopefully the friends of flightdecksolutions can help me.. thanks for the suggest!! regards, martijn
