Button Assignment

Recommended Posts

I am trying to assign button number 2 on a CH Flight Yoke to activate the TOGA on my 737-800 by PMDG. One clue is that when I opened FSUIPC.ini I noted that there is a line at the bottom which reads [buttons.B737-800 Ryanair-Virtual Cocpit] 0=P1,1,c65861,1. This would suggest I am on the right track? I have disabled the setting in FS's own assignments. Can someone please advise me as to how to go about this. Thank you on advance.

Doesn't the PMDG 737 "do its own thing" for A/P and A/T operation? You'd probably need to find what keystroke combination they've assigned for this, then program your button to send that.

That shows button 1 (I count from 0, so that would probably be your number 2) assigned to FS control 65861, which, if you check in the FS controls list packaged with FSUIPC, is "AUTO_THROTTLE_TO_GA".

So, yes, you've assigned the button to FS's TO/GA facility, but in all probability (and this is a question for PMDG, as I don't know), the PMDG 737's don't use FS controls.

Have you checked PMDG documentation to see how to operate its TO/GA via keyboard? Once you know that you can re-program your button to send that key combo.

Pete

Many thanks for your fast responce Pete. Yes PMDG assigns keystroke CTRL+Shft+G to Set TOGA and CTRL+Tab+G to Reset TOGA. Incidentally I downloaded your Version 3536 yesterday. At last a great window in which to read Radar Contact - thanks for that great improvement. A bit confused at to how to program the above TOGA. Also programed the spoilers to work on the middle lever of the flight yoke. However whereas I can deploy and arm them they do not deploy automatically anymore on landing. I assume this is again a quirk within PMDG. Many thanks for your assistance Pete. Look forward to your instructions. Have to leave the house for a bit now so will check forum again after lunch.

Cheers David

That would be 3.553.

There are no FS controls for PMDG's way of doing things. You cannot use controls as you have been trying. You know the keystrokes, you just told me them. Program your buttons to send those -- it's still done in the Buttons and Switches part of FS, but look at the left-hand side!

Possibly, or they are not actually arming because you haven't put the lever in the right place. Try making the Arm zone wider to make it easier.

Pete
