Hi Pete,

I have the following question about the used offset for rudder_trim_control and rudder_trim_indicator, is there any of these availble in FSUIPC ? .... I found only the following offsets for rudder in your documentation;

0BBC 2 Rudder position indicator

0BBA 2 Rudder control input: –16383 to +16383

2EB8 8 Rudder deflection

2EC0 8 Rudder trim deflection

I want to use these offsets for control and display on the 737 pedestal rudder & aileron module using Phidgets.

Thanks for looking in already and best regards,

Gert / NG737SIM / http://www.ng737sim.nl

You found them, they are one and the same -- 2EC0, as documented. You can write and read it.

Hi Pete,

Did some try-out together with Phidgets and the 2EC0 offset, without any luck, no movement of the rudder control at all when looking to the default 737 ruddertrim scale onto the panel when assign this offset to the Phidget controls.

Both elevator trim control and elevator trim indicator are working fine when turning the rotation sensor conected to Phidget 8/8/8 interface and see mving the servo conected to the Phidget servo-board (also visable onto the Phidget LCD) using the following offsets:

[ELEVATOR_TRIM_CONTROL]

Offset=0BC0

Length=2

FSType=Proportional

LoValue=-16383

HiValue=16383

[ELEVATOR_TRIM_INDICATOR]

Offset=0BC2

Length=2

FSType=Proportional

LoValue=-16384

HiValue=16384

Don't know why this can't be done the same with rudder-trim control, because when you clicking this function in the 737 panel (see attachment picture) it must be possible I think !

Hope you can help to sort it out !

Gert

Hmm. I don't think you are reading the documentation thoroughly enough. The value at 2EC0 is a floating point 64-bit value (a "double") with a range of -0.2 to +0.2 (radians). Can your "Phidgets" driver drive that? The offset most certainly works correctly.

BTW if you look inside the FSUIPC SDK you will find a program called "FSInterrogate" which you will find very very useful when trying to do things like this. Also, you could check out the FSUIPC monitoring facilities in the FSUIPC logging page -- you can get real-time values displayed as you experiment.

Pete

Oke, I'll think so to, must do some reading again ! .... about supporting this offset to Phidget I don't know !have to ask the people from Phidget.

Meanwhile I'll try out the program called "FSInterrogate" your mention about and let you know if I have any progress or results with it.

Thanks anyway for your support and hope to meet you again in person at the IFC at the end of the this year in Birmingham UK.

Kind regards,

Gert
