Hi, I'm back again. Still trying to sort this FSUIPC thing out. I need to install build 9.00.30612. I went to Peter Dawsons simMarket and found many downloads but no build numbers. Can any one please help?

Thank You

Hi, I'm back again. Still trying to sort this FSUIPC thing out.

Sorry, I've no idea what you are talking about. This is the first message in a rather anonymously entitled thread, so there's no history at all! :-(

I need to install build 9.00.30612.

That's the version number of the FS2004 original release, some three years ago. If you are using the FS9.1 update then the number will be later than that.

I went to Peter Dawsons simMarket and found many downloads but no build numbers.

It's actually "Dowson", not "Dawson", and none of my programs are downloadable from SimMarket at all. You can get them from http://www.schiratti.com/dowson, as always (for the last 10 years or more), and if it is FSUIPC you need there's only ever one supported and current, and the package for that is named FSUIPC.ZIP. It currently contains version 3.70 which works with both versions of FS2004, as well as FS2002 and FS2000.

Pete

This is the exact same problem im having!!

I havent been able to use FS 2004 ever since a friend gave me a loan of an add-on.

Here is the exact error message I receive when I try to use FS2004-->

Any advice would be welcomed.

The version of FS2004 detected is not compatible

With this version of FSUIPC! It is build 9.01.40901…..

You need the correct version of FS2004

Check the Help About : The build should be 9.00.30612.

FSUIPC will terminate when you select ok.

When I click ok it then says --- >

Flight Simulator was unable to load some Aircraft or Software. You can continue using Flight Simulator but this Aircraft or Software will be disabled.

File : FSUIPC.dll

It then closes and I am unable to use FS.

Looking forward to hearing from anyone who can help.

You are using FS2004 updated to 9.1, with a copy of FSUIPC dated much earlier. Thast very old copy of FSUIPC has no knowledge whatsoever of the later version of FS -- it cannot see into the future! However, FSUIPC was updated to work with the updated FS2004 on the same day it was released, long ago!

Just download the current, supported, version of FSUIPC and put it into your FS modules folder.

Microsoft did actually tell everyone about all this in their FS2004 update READ ME, but of course no one ever bothers to read those, do they? They should have called it "DO NOT READ ME UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!"

Hi Pete,

Thanks a Million for your help.

Im not a technical minded person at all and dont have internet access at home.

Whats a FS modules folder? I suppose i could download the supported, version of FSUIPC in work put it on my memory stick and bring it home.Would i be able to find this on your website?

When I originally bought FS2004 it worked on my computer no problem. What I cant understand is how all of a sudden its not working now.

Sorry if im asking the same question again.

It's a folder (a place on your hard disk, where files go), called "Modules" and it is inside the folder where your copy of FS is.

I don't have a website. Alll my FS files are available from http://www.schiratti.com/dowson, where they've always been, and of course where many of the Announcements at the top of this forum point to. Why not try browsing through those occasionally?

How did you even manage to find this Support forum if you can't find my programs? I don't understand! :-(

Because you messed about with it by installing older add-on programs which were published before the version of FS you are using was ever known about, let alone available. If you want your FS installation to stay pristine, just never ever add anything to it at all.

If you give in and add things again and it goes wrong, please ask for help from the folks who published the add-on that messed it up!

Pete,

Thanks for your help.

I found your support forum through another forum I was trying to find help from. They directed me to you.

Ive downloaded the current version of FSUIPC and will install.

Again thanks for your help.
