ksfash Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 Hi Pete, I've just purchased and installed the FSUIPC4 for FSX including WideFS so that I can run FS commander on a Client computer. I have connected both the computers through Ethernet cable and set up a network. But I'm facing a problem which is not letting me access anything on My C:\ drive on the Server computer through the Client computer. I'm getting the following error message: "\\Ksfash-83\Microsoft Flight Simulator X is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. Access is denied" This problem occurs only with c:\\ drive (RAID0). I can access other drives on the same server computer without any problems at all. I have enable the sharing in the sever computer and tried different stuff but nothing seems to work. Here are some configuraiton of both my computers. SERVER COMPUTER: Intel D975XBX2 motherboard Intel Quad Core Q6700 processor Nvidia 8800GTX grahpics card Window Vista Business OS Two western Digital HDD set up on RAID0 config (c:\) Connected through Netgear wireless router, but I'm using the Ethernet cable to connect to the network. CLIENT COMPUTER (LAPTOP): Windows XP Service Pack 2 Intel pentium 4 1.40 Ghz processor I have been trying everywhere to find a possible solution to this problem but can't seem to find anything, can you please help me out with this. Your help would be highly appreciated. regards Khurrum

This isn't really a WideFS problem, as WideFS doesn't use such access methods -- FS Commander is presumably looking to scan the FS scenery files. With Vista I don't think you can share the system drive as such. I think you have to enable the actual FSX folder to be shared. You would give it a short share name as well, like "FSX" so it would be referred to by \\Ksfash-83\FSX on the client. Regards Pete
ksfash Posted September 12, 2007 Author Report Posted September 12, 2007 Pete, Thanks alot Pete that sorts out my problem. I now have the FS commander working on my client PC connected to the sever(FSX) PC. But I'm now facing another new problem which I'm not sure if is FSUIPC4 related. Everytime I pause a flight for more than 5-10mins after pressing 'P' again to resume the flight the aircraft just goes crazy diving, gaining and losing altitute, flipping and finally crashing on the ground. It happens even at high altitudes. I never use to get this problem before installing the registered FSUIPC4 and WideFS setup, at times I've even paused for whole night but nothing went wrong. Can you help regards, Khurrum

Can you help Sorry, there's nothing in FSUIPC or WideFS which will do that. Are you sure you haven't got FSCommander or something trying to control the aircraft, and not checking correctly for when it is paused? If not FSCommander, you have something affecting FS's values.
