mtjoeng Posted November 18, 2007 Report Posted November 18, 2007 Saitek Pro Yoke normally uses SST software, and then you can do Mode 1/2/3 with a 3 way button, and Treble your button states This mode button does NOT show up in FSUIPC So there's no chance we will be able to use this? / would be nice I am so used to FSUIPC that I don't want to use SST, also I suspect this is the 'random eratic button push' culprit, much talked about complaint. Without loading SST the yoke runs fine. Any persons here who combine SST and FSUIPC and like to post thier use here? thx
Andydigital Posted November 20, 2007 Report Posted November 20, 2007 The below is taken from the official Saitek forum. If you really want the mode buttons to be available, you can rename the file C:\Windows\System32\SaiD0BAC.pr0 and unplug/plug in the yoke. This will remove the default profile that specifies that the mode buttons should be a mode switch. I had the mode switch set as position: 1 2D cockpit view 2 3D Virtual cockpit view. 3 External Locked spot view. In my opinion there are enough buttons on the yoke as it is without the need for 3 shift keys as well. As it turns out i sent mine back to the shop eventually for a refund because i wasn't happy with having defective goods i.e. i had the random button activation issue on my yoke. Thanks to Pete he added some code to FSUIPC to remove the issues caused by Saiteks faulty goods, but unfortunately it doesn't help with other games and sims that don't have FSUIPC. Saitek actually admitted just a few days ago that they couldn't fix the issue with a driver update, and that is was some problem with the firmware on the yokes control board, hence me sending it back for a refund. Oh one last thing apparently they have fixed the firmware now on the new yokes, but i'm not getting my hands burnt again for a while yet
mtjoeng Posted November 21, 2007 Author Report Posted November 21, 2007 The below is taken from the official Saitek forum.mode buttons to be available, rename file C:\Windows\System32\SaiD0BAC.pr0 Great find, thx, 3 buttons added still Shift modes seems a good idea Any chance Mr. Dowson can find a way to assign/define/create a Shift Button#1 on the Yoke that will multiply all other available Buttons? :x :P :P BTW. My Saitek does an eratic view push average 3x per 1 hour light / seems OK(I have Trim all Exchanged for View Buttons)
Andydigital Posted November 21, 2007 Report Posted November 21, 2007 I believe FSUIPC can already do the shift function, but its a complicated matter that will require you to study the Advanced manual that is in the Modules folder along with FSUIPC.dll

BTW: renaming SaiD0BAC.pr0 is not enough load it in Notepad, delete content save the empty file, Write Protect this file or Saitek will put a new default SaiD0BAC.pr0 in your System32 dir.
Andydigital Posted November 23, 2007 Report Posted November 23, 2007 Not if you use the same USB port it wont, if you plugged into a different USB port it automatically reinstalls the drivers and that profile file.
