virtual-pilot Posted November 19, 2007 Report Posted November 19, 2007 Hi everybody, I would like - because experiencing a lot of building crashes with invisible objects on the apron of differents airports (e.g. Brisbane /VOZ v1.5)- to switch off the crash detection right after the landing and on again after taking off. I would like to do that using a hotkey (e.g. F10) I would assign in FSUIPC. Is that possible? Thanks for any help! Cheers, Yves P.S.: FSUIPC registered version for FS2004
virtual-pilot Posted December 4, 2007 Author Report Posted December 4, 2007 Well, welcome back Pete - hope you're well ! I guess my question is very easy to answer for you, I was not very successful with my topic all these days... :D Cheers, Yves
Pete Dowson Posted December 4, 2007 Report Posted December 4, 2007 I would like - because experiencing a lot of building crashes with invisible objects on the apron of differents airports (e.g. Brisbane /VOZ v1.5)- to switch off the crash detection right after the landing and on again after taking off. I would like to do that using a hotkey (e.g. F10) I would assign in FSUIPC. Is that possible? Isn't there a separate menu option for disabling crash detection with objects but still allowing "normal" user aircraft crashes? Surely that is the one you want to switch on, and you could leave it on all the time. Why switch it off in the air? Anyway, for FS2004 (not FSX) there is an FSUIPC offset which certainly reads the crash detection action. I don't know if writing to it does anything useful, but you could try it. Offset is 0830 (1 byte will do). It is 0=Ignore, 1=Reset, 2=Graph (?). You'd program your key or button to use the FSUIPC control "Offset Byte ToggleBits" with a parameter of 1. Try it. I don't hold out much hope that it will change anything though. Regards Pete
tomcontr Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 Is there any way to set the Crash action in FSX? Regards Tomas
Pete Dowson Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 Is there any way to set the Crash action in FSX? Only by the menu I think. Hardly any of the menu items have been exposed via SimConnect I'm afraid. Pete
tomcontr Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 I was reading about some variables that simconnect has, and one of them allows to read the status of crash detection, can FSUIPC eventually read that value using Simconnect? I only need to read the value. Regards Tomás
Pete Dowson Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 I was reading about some variables that simconnect has, and one of them allows to read the status of crash detection, can FSUIPC eventually read that value using Simconnect? I only need to read the value. Ah, yes. There are some variables that were added. These in fact: REALISM CRASH WITH OTHERS True indicates crashing with other aircraft is possible. REALISM CRASH DETECTION True indicates crash detection is turned on CRASH SEQUENCE One of: 0: off 1: complete 3: reset 4: pause 11: start CRASH FLAG One of: 0: None 2: Mountain 4: General 6: Building 8: Splash 10: Gear up 12: Overstress 14: Building 16: Aircraft 18: Fuel Truck I could add offsets for these to FSUIPC4, in the next interim update if you like. They aren't really compatible with the older offset 0830, so i'd probably prefer to find some place else to put them. Looks like 4 byte values would do. And, in fact, make the "crashed flag" at offset 0840 give more information, as above. Currently it is driven by an Event, not a Variable. Regards Pete
tomcontr Posted August 28, 2008 Report Posted August 28, 2008 that would be greate... I just need to know if the user enables or disables the Crash Detection, so I can Puase the game. Because we dont allow Crash detection disabled on or Virtual Airlines. About the offset, it doesnt matter, as long as I can use it, I would be very thankful. Best Regards Tomas
Pete Dowson Posted August 28, 2008 Report Posted August 28, 2008 About the offset, it doesnt matter, as long as I can use it, I would be very thankful. Okay. I'll add it in an increment in the FSX downloads announcement first -- check there over the next few days -- maybe by the end of the weekend with any luck. I am in the middle of something rather bigger but I can probably release it for testing and development anyway, just not a full user release for a couple of weeks (lots more testing and documentation needed for the new stuff I'm doing). Best Regards Pete
tomcontr Posted August 28, 2008 Report Posted August 28, 2008 Not a problem... I'll be checking the forum for test realease. Thanks again. Regards Tomas
tomcontr Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 Hi Pete, I´ve been disconnected a little while from the Flight Sim. Any news about these matter? Best regards Tomás
Pete Dowson Posted October 29, 2008 Report Posted October 29, 2008 Hi Pete, I´ve been disconnected a little while from the Flight Sim. Any news about these matter? Don't you scan the Announcements? Check the FSX Downloads one. That's where it was always destined to go, as it is where all the FSUIPC4 interim updates go! I did actually tell you to look there, and you said you would! Pete
tomcontr Posted November 3, 2008 Report Posted November 3, 2008 Yep I did said that. Sorry about it... its just I ´ve been very disconnected from FS world latetly. I will test the FSUIPC 4.332 today. Any idea when its going out as a Final versión? Best Regards Tomás

FSUIPC 4.40, some time next week (i.e. 10-14th), I hope, if I can find time to update the documentation. Should be okay -- I have an FSUIPC3 version to do too. Regards Pete
