Gabe The Pilot Posted December 16, 2007 Report Posted December 16, 2007 Hi All, Have just setup a network with a second PC - no problems so far. Radar Contact works fine and dandy on the second (client) PC. However, the display still shows in the main window of the Server PC (the one running FSX). Is there any way of making the display appear on the clients PC's monitor ? I think I know the answer but I thought "Hey it's Xmas soon and even Peter won't begrudge me a little wishful thinking" !!! If not - as I suspect - is there a way of changing the background colour of the panel / font as you could with AdvDisplay in FS9 ? Many Thanks in advance
Pete Dowson Posted December 17, 2007 Report Posted December 17, 2007 Radar Contact works fine and dandy on the second (client) PC. However, the display still shows in the main window of the Server PC (the one running FSX). Is there any way of making the display appear on the clients PC's monitor ? Use the "ShowText" utitlity, which is still supplied in the AdvDisplay ZIP. Turn off the FS display in the FSUIPC options, first tab. If not - as I suspect - is there a way of changing the background colour of the panel / font as you could with AdvDisplay in FS9 ? Surely for display on a separate PC you used ShowText, as I do? There's no difference for FSX. Regards Pete
Gabe The Pilot Posted December 17, 2007 Author Report Posted December 17, 2007 Oh I didn't know about that utility. I'll give it a try.....I assume it is downloadable from your site....thnx.
Pete Dowson Posted December 17, 2007 Report Posted December 17, 2007 I'll give it a try.....I assume it is downloadable from your site....thnx. I don't have a site, but it is available (and always has been) inside the AdvDisplay Zip, as I said. I assumed you already had AdvDisplay, as you mentioned "as you could with AdvDisplay in FS9". But if you've lost the ZIP just get it from the Schiratti page where all my stuff is. Regards Pete
Gabe The Pilot Posted December 17, 2007 Author Report Posted December 17, 2007 Wow - that's fantabulous....thnx very much I'm in Heaven - well North Wales really, but you know what I mean....not only does it same even more FPS's but everything looks a lot more tidy too. Now I don't suppose there is a way I can enter the keyptress repsonses to radar contact on my client pc's keyboard ? Have a good xmas to one and all...especially Peter -you've made my day.
Pete Dowson Posted December 17, 2007 Report Posted December 17, 2007 Now I don't suppose there is a way I can enter the keyptress repsonses to radar contact on my client pc's keyboard ? Yes. Please check the WideFS Technical document. There are two ways, one by "SendKeyPresses" (WideClient has to have keyboard focus), and a more recent, better, alternative called "ButtonKeys", where keypresses on the Client appear as Buttons in FSUIPC, and can then be programmed for FS controls or keypresses. Please see the section about ButtonKeys in that document. Regards Pete
Gabe The Pilot Posted December 17, 2007 Author Report Posted December 17, 2007 Hi Again, Do I need to purchase a registered version of FSUIPC 4 to enable this buttonkeys function ?
Pete Dowson Posted December 17, 2007 Report Posted December 17, 2007 Do I need to purchase a registered version of FSUIPC 4 to enable this buttonkeys function ? Yes, as you need such to program buttons. Otherwise use the other (older) facility which only works if you keep the keyboard focus on the WideClient window (which of course you'd otherwise probably have minimised or hidden). Pete

Pete Dowson Posted December 13, 2009 Report Posted December 13, 2009 Hi Pete ,i have a problem whit Advdisplay. Sorry, Advdisplay has not been supported now for over four years. Please use the built-in FS Window facilities, as explained in the FSUIPC User Guide. Pete
