lrddragar Posted July 10, 2003 Report Posted July 10, 2003 When i run Activesky, after a few minutes, in flight simulator, the ground gets extremly disoriented, and the pixels grow to about 20x thier size (on ground only, and the buildings, clouds, and airplane seem to be more detailed. Then, when i try to restart flight simulator, flight simulator says it cannot start the hardware accelorator. This only happens when i run Activesky. This problem persists until i reboot computer, even if i have shut down activesky.

Have you asked in the ActiveSky support forum (is there one?), see if others have similar problems with, perhaps, similar hardware? I think the first thing to try is updated or different drivers. I can't think of anything else that could screw around with stuff like hardware acceleration settings. Pete
lrddragar Posted July 10, 2003 Author Report Posted July 10, 2003 Is there a way to disable activesky from messing with the game? i really only need it to pull up weather information
Pete Dowson Posted July 10, 2003 Report Posted July 10, 2003 Is there a way to disable activesky from messing with the game? i really only need it to pull up weather information Why use ActiveSky to get weather information? There's FS's own ATIS, and there's also my own WeatherSet, part of the FSUIPC package, which will report the weather at the aircraft. Isn't it ActiveSky, if you are using it, which is supplying the weather to FS, the very weather you want reporting? I don't understand what you want to use it for if it isn't supplying the weather? Maybe these questions are better directed to the ActiveSky folks? After all, they may know more about it than someone who doesn't even use it? Sorry I can't be of much help here. Good luck! Pete
lrddragar Posted July 10, 2003 Author Report Posted July 10, 2003 Well i do air traffic controlling online, and i need a quick way to pull up accurate, detailed weather information, such as activesky, but if activesky messes up my flight simulator, i cant use it... so i need to find a way to disable it from messing with my video settings
