SteveLewis Posted April 6, 2008 Report Posted April 6, 2008 Ever since updating my FSUIPC to v4.26 (registered) I have lost the ability to have my CH Yoke adjust the trim tabs. I've also lost that ability with the number 2 & 8 keys. Without the trim tabs, FSX is now unflyable for me. I fly both the Feelthere ERJ and B-1900D from PMDG. I've tested both and the trim tabs are totally INOP. I am not using FSUIPC to set my CH Yoke buttons -- just for the very basic items in wind and clouds so I am unsure of how this happened. Prior to the update, everything worked just fine. Is there a page available to download former releases of FSUIPC for FSX in case one discovers a problem? Steve Lewis Omaha
Pete Dowson Posted April 6, 2008 Report Posted April 6, 2008 Ever since updating my FSUIPC to v4.26 (registered) I have lost the ability to have my CH Yoke adjust the trim tabs. You've made some mistakes with assignments, then? Delete the FSUIPC4.INI file and let it generate a default one. I've also lost that ability with the number 2 & 8 keys. The default trim keys are 1 and 7 -- the 2 and 8 normally operate the elevator itself. It sounds like your FSX assignments themselves are in a mess. Have you checked? Anyway, unless you've got those keys assigned for something else in FSUIPC, this really can be nothing to do with it. Without the trim tabs, FSX is now unflyable for me. I fly both the Feelthere ERJ and B-1900D from PMDG. I've tested both and the trim tabs are totally INOP. Maybe it is something to do with those aircraft. Did you check with a default aircraft to see? -- just for the very basic items in wind and clouds so I am unsure of how this happened. Prior to the update, everything worked just fine. Well, that must be pure coincidence. Something else has changed, for sure. Is there a page available to download former releases of FSUIPC for FSX in case one discovers a problem? No. There is no reason to go back. It will make no difference whatsoever. There is an interim update (4.264) in the FSX Downloads announcement which you can try too, but there certainly isn't anything these which would affect this either. Everyone always blames FSUIPC for everything. It is very depressing. :-( Regards Pete
SteveLewis Posted April 6, 2008 Author Report Posted April 6, 2008 Pete, I've solved my problem and it wasn't FSUIPC. Actually, I didn't mean to come off as blaming FSUIPC but more to see if maybe I had done something incorrectly with the program (maybe inadvertently checked a box or something). Anyway, I downloaded a copy of FSUIPC v4.152 from FlightSim.com and had exactly the same problem. That ruled out FSUIPC. I then disconnected both my CH Yoke and Pedal USBs and traded slots. Windows reloaded the drivers for both as they were in different USB slots. I then did a quick calibration of my Yoke. My trim tabs now work in v4.152 and I'm sure they will continue to do so in 4.26 which I will re-download right after I finish up here. Again, sorry if I came off as blaming your fantastic program. Thanks! Steve
