DAVIAN Posted April 12, 2008 Report Posted April 12, 2008 Last thrursday I had to remove everything from my computer, formatted my drive and put everything back that has to do with FSX. I made a backup off the FSUIPC INI file. When I put FSUIPC back on my computer and copy this INI file in the correct folder are all my joystick settings then ok again or do I have to do something else first.
Pete Dowson Posted April 12, 2008 Report Posted April 12, 2008 When I put FSUIPC back on my computer and copy this INI file in the correct folder are all my joystick settings then ok again As long as you re-registered, yes of course. The INI file is where all of your FSUIPC settings are kept. Pete
DAVIAN Posted April 12, 2008 Author Report Posted April 12, 2008 Only my throttle works perfect and also the buttons on it. On my PFC yoke the buttons do not work and also my pedals do not work. So i was wondering, how can this be because it is my old FSIUPC INI file with all the commandos. Registration is normal otherwise you do not have the whole benifit of this program.
Pete Dowson Posted April 12, 2008 Report Posted April 12, 2008 Only my throttle works perfect and also the buttons on it. On my PFC yoke the buttons do not work and also my pedals do not work. Sounds like you have something really messed up. So i was wondering, how can this be because it is my old FSIUPC INI file with all the commandos. Registration is normal otherwise you do not have the whole benifit of this program. If your devices are the same (drivers, calibration etc), and your FS configuration the same (assignments etc), and the version of FS is the same (FS9 or FS9.1, whatever), and the FSUIPC.INI file is unchanged, then 100% of everything is the same -- so it must act the same. This is ordinary everyday logic. If some things now do not work, if they are different, then they are not the same, so you have changed or forgotten something. If you are sure the FSUIPC.INI file is the same, then it is not related to FSUIPC. You must look elsewhere. You mention PFC as one of the devices. Is that using my PFC driver? If so you probably forgot to install it or its INI. It has its own INI with the same consideration. Pete
DAVIAN Posted April 12, 2008 Author Report Posted April 12, 2008 Last time I did not use any PFC driver for my yoke but only calibrated it via the windows game control panel. It is only a column yoke from PFC. I will get back after checking some things.
DAVIAN Posted April 13, 2008 Author Report Posted April 13, 2008 Ok I saw what is wrong. When I go to the options and settings page in FSUIPC and I do a rescan in my axis assignment then I see that my yoke and pedals are switched. Joystick 1 is now joystick 0 and joystick o is now joystick 1. How can I change this on the options and settings page, because now I have right & left brake on my yoke and elevator & aileron on my pedals? Or can it better be changed in the INI file. Thanks for your help.
Pete Dowson Posted April 13, 2008 Report Posted April 13, 2008 Ok I saw what is wrong. When I go to the options and settings page in FSUIPC and I do a rescan in my axis assignment then I see that my yoke and pedals are switched. The way in which joystick numbers are assigned is determined by Windows, and I think that just depends on which USB ports you plugged them into. Joystick 1 is now joystick 0 and joystick o is now joystick 1. How can I change this on the options and settings page, because now I have right & left brake on my yoke and elevator & aileron on my pedals?Or can it better be changed in the INI file. Easiest probably is to unplug them then plug them in the other way round. Else edit the INI file changing all joystick 0 references to 1 and all 1 references to 0. Regards Pete
DAVIAN Posted April 13, 2008 Author Report Posted April 13, 2008 Thank you Pete for your help. That was also my thought but I wanted to hear how you would solve the problem.
