Robert R Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 I'm using FSUIPC v3.82 exclusively to set up my CH Yoke, CH Rudder Pedals, and CH throttle Quadrant, having followed the excellent tutorial by John Cook. Everything works great except that I am having trouble with assigning the flaps to the lower right hand switch on my CH yoke. The assignment part is fine, but what is happening is that instead of the flaps moving incrementally, they move from a flaps up position to a flaps fully extended position, racing past all of the intermediate positions. It's the same with flaps up, as well. I have tried using both the "Select FS control" (using Flaps_Incr, Flaps_Decr) and the "Select for key press" (F7 for flaps_Incr, F6 for Flaps_Decr) on the buttons and switches tab in FSUIPC, making sure that the "key press not to be held" box is checked. I've also made sure that there are no joystick assignments in FS for flaps. I should mention that I'm using the PMDG 747-400 in FS9 and haven't tried any other aircraft with this new configuration. I am at a loss as to what I should try next to solve this. Thoughts? Regards, Robert

Sounds like either your switch is a toggle switch (i.e. it stays "on" when operated) and you have the control set to repeat, or the switch is repeating incorrectly in any case. Enable Event logging in FSUIPC and check the log. I've also made sure that there are no joystick assignments in FS for flaps. I should mention that I'm using the PMDG 747-400 in FS9 and haven't tried any other aircraft with this new configuration. ALWAYS test on a default aircraft first. It may be a problem or a difference with the add-on. If it works with default aircraft it must be the add-on. You could of course also see if the normal FS flap inc/dec keypresses work -- i.e. F7 and F6. Regards Pete
