koyaan Posted October 31, 2008 Report Posted October 31, 2008 Will it ever return, the tab with visibility settings in FSUIPC4? Just 2 items of it i'm missing very much, so here is my request for it in a future version of FSUIPC4 :D 1: Option to set 1/2 mile or very low visibility when in precipitation condition. 2: Maximum visibility for no matter what altitude (so no need for gradual transitions). With the default FSX online weather, visibility always goes to maximum range at altitude. Resulting in a hard edged horizon and cloud layers that don't reach that far at max. range. Possible lower visibility would overcome both and just looks better in every aspect. Best regards, Gerrit
Pete Dowson Posted October 31, 2008 Report Posted October 31, 2008 Will it ever return, the tab with visibility settings in FSUIPC4? Not by default, at least until FSXI or ESP2, assuming they fix the severe problems in doing anything useful with visibility in FSX/ESP. 1: Option to set 1/2 mile or very low visibility when in precipitation condition. You can of course enable the visibility options tab now (and always could in FSUIPC4), and try these things. But I cannot guarantee that any of it will work as you would hope or expect. That is why the options are not put in front of you by default -- because I don't think they work well enough. If you hadn't even realised that the Visibility options were still there (but optional), please do, very soon, have a look at the User Guide supplied with FSUIPC4. Even the Visibility section is still there, and in the contents list (clearly marked as optional), and with a red statement at the start of the section telling you how to re-enable it. Regards Pete
koyaan Posted October 31, 2008 Author Report Posted October 31, 2008 Thanks Pete for your quick and extensive reply to my redundant request. Next thing i will start reading the user guide :) Thanks again and sorry for bothering. regards, Gerrit
