mstank Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 I'm trying to reinstall fsuipc. I went to the x86 files and tried to delete but access denied. I'm the admin tring to delete and dont understand what you mean when you say run explorer as admin. Can you clear up the steps about how to remove the 3 files before repaing fsx and reinstalling fsuicp4.40. Thanks mike
Pete Dowson Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 I'm trying to reinstall fsuipc. I went to the x86 files and tried to delete but access denied. What have the "x86 files" got to do with FSUIPC? The only files anything to do with FSUIPC are all in the FSX modules folder, which is not access protected but available to all. I'm the admin tring to delete and dont understand what you mean when you say run explorer as admin. You don't need to run explorer "as admin" to access or delete things from the FSX Modules folder. And you don't need to delete FSUIPC4 to reinstall it. Just run the installer. If you are ever asked to run something "as administrator", you should right click on the program itself, or its shortcut, select "Run As administrator". This runs the program in what is called "elevated administrator mode", which is the same level as an installer gets. It is more than your normal user Admin level and provides access to places otherwise denied. Can you clear up the steps about how to remove the 3 files before repaing fsx and reinstalling fsuicp4.40. Thanks mike What three files are you talking about? Are you talking about SimConnect, not FSUIPC after all? Please clarify. Regards Pete
