Hi at all, i have one little problem..., i started to use the module advdisp.dll because i would like to see the messages in my Eicas of Project Magenta, but doesn't works... :( The steps for installation that i followed are: I putted the dll. in Modules directory of FS9, i started Fs9 and the Modules menu is appeared and i activate the windows... this works fine, in fact, all the messages in red stay inside this window. After i went in the pfd.ini of my networked Pc Eicas with Project Magenta and i putted the option "AdvDisp" =OnI started the Eicas but no messages anywhere. Also i tried in this pc the software "ShowText 1.10" that exit with Advdisp and works very fine. I must do something else in Project Magenta to work ?

Thanks in advance,

AdvDisp has not been supported for several years now. The facilities it offers are all included in FSUIPC itself.

To see messages on another screen on a network you just use the little utility Showtext (see inside the AdvDisp ZIP).

(That reminds me -- I should upload ShowText itself to the "Updates and Goodies" announcement above).

After i went in the pfd.ini of my networked Pc Eicas with Project Magenta and i putted the option "AdvDisp" =OnI started the Eicas but no messages anywhere.

I've no idea what that facility is, sorry. I don't think it is what you think it might be. Please ask PM support for details -- is it documented anywhere?

In any case you shouldn't be using AdvDisp.DLL, even with FS9 -- the Window facilities it provides are embedded in FSUIPC now, and for several years. Please see the FSUIPC user guide, near the beginning.

Also i tried in this pc the software "ShowText 1.10" that exit with Advdisp and works very fine.

You don't need AdvDisp installed to use ShowText. I use Showtext to display a small window on my EICAS screen, overlaying one of the standby instruments.

I must do something else in Project Magenta to work ?

Sorry, I cannot imagine what you are expecting to see. I think this is a question for PM? Maybe it is an old facility no longer supported?

Hi Pete, thanks for fast reply.. you saved me hours of testing. Ok i eliminate soon this facility from my FS9 Pc. I thinked that with this dll i could solve the problem of messages in band green that exit anytime that i have some atis message of my Fs9 Pc and moved them in my Eicas Pc. But.... :(

Thanks anyway.
