AxelH Posted February 26, 2009 Report Posted February 26, 2009 Hi Peter, I have following problem and I hope you can help me here on this forum: I use PFE for ATC guidance in FS09, the developer of PFE told me that the callsign information are taken from FSUIPC. I thought from the aircraft.cfg entry. PFE sometimes recognizes the callsigns and sometimes not: e.g. GERMANWINGS: on the one hand the controllers say: GERMANWINGS correctly and on the other hand sometimes GOLF WHISKEY INDIA. GWI. In my aircraft.cfgs I have the texture entry in following way: GWI-Germanwings_D-ABCD. Do you have any idea why this happens and how FSUIPC in connection with PFE uses the callsigns? Maybe I find a workaround to get the proper calls in that ATC programme. Thanks and kind regards, Axel.

Do you have any idea why this happens and how FSUIPC in connection with PFE uses the callsigns? I expect it reads the aircraft Identification which FSUIPC gets from FS. FS supplies it based on the ATC information near the beginning of the aircraft.cfg file. If sometimes you get one thing and sometimes another it will be because you have those variations in your Aircraft CFG files, that is all. If you make them all the same, it will be more consistent. Maybe I find a workaround to get the proper calls in that ATC programme. If the ATC data really does say "GWI-Germanwings_D-ABCD" or anything like that, then your PFE program has no choice but to voice the GWI phonetically. You are lucky it does not try to voice the dash etc. the same way! Try my free TrafficLook program to display AI traffic data. The names PFE uses will be shown there too. Regards Pete
AxelH Posted February 26, 2009 Author Report Posted February 26, 2009 Thanks Pete for your reply, I will need to have a closer look there and maybe rename some entries there. Regards, Axel
