Pete Dowson Posted April 3, 2009 Report Posted April 3, 2009 I have had to reload FSX and now I can't get FSUIPC registered. My purchase # is 332599. The Key is !!!!! NEVER publish your key! I may have to rervoke that if someone else works out how to use it! :-( If the registration is being rejected you are entering something wrong. ALL THREE PARTS -- name, email or address and key MUST be identical to the original registration. If you've forgotten the name or address you used, log onto your account at simMarket and retrieve it. Pete
Ralph Lawhon- Jr. Posted April 6, 2009 Author Report Posted April 6, 2009 Dear sir, How doI get a new key? Or did you just delete the key from the forum? I checked and you are not restricted from my computer and I was putting all the info in the right places. There is a glitch somewhere and I will be trying to work it out as time permits. Is it possible to change my sign in name without too much trouble? Thanks
Pete Dowson Posted April 6, 2009 Report Posted April 6, 2009 How doI get a new key? If you want to buy a new key you go to the sales booth in SimMarket. Or did you just delete the key from the forum? I removed the key from your message here as you are forbidden to publish it. I checked and you are not restricted from my computer ... Sorry, I don't understand this part. I do not try to access anyone's computers than my own! ... and I was putting all the info in the right places. You are most certainly making a mistake somewhere if the key is being rejected. If you want me to check, send all the information you are entering (name, email, key) privately by email to petedowson@btconnect.com and I will check it for you here. Sorry There is a glitch somewhere and I will be trying to work it out as time permits. "work it out"? You really do just need to use EXACTLY the same details as supplied to SimMarket when you purchased the key! Is it possible to change my sign in name without too much trouble? If you are using another person's Key, you and he are breaking the license agreement and the key must be revoked. You must purchase your own key, in your own name. The registration keys are locked exclusively to the original name/address of the purchaser. Regards Pete
Ralph Lawhon- Jr. Posted April 6, 2009 Author Report Posted April 6, 2009 I need to clarify a couple of things. First I did buy FSUIPC legally. I have used both versions for FSX and 2004. I had no problem until I had to reinstall FSX. Now all is OK except that I can't get FSUIPC4 registered again. I did enter the right info and it just would not work. As to the question about you being restricted from my computer, there was a pop up saying I should check to see if your site was restricted. Now as to changing my sign in name I made a mistake in the origional sign up and I don't like using my full name in these forums. No crook here. As to buying a new key again, no, I won't do that.
Pete Dowson Posted April 6, 2009 Report Posted April 6, 2009 I can't get FSUIPC4 registered again. I did enter the right info and it just would not work. In what way does it indicate that it is not working? Is the entry rejected as "invalid", or is it accepted, but then FSUIPC4 still appears unregistered when you run FSX, or does it appear to be registered but not working correctly? It is important to differentiate between these things as the cause of each is completely different. If the details are rejected as invalid when being entered then you are most certainly making a mistake when entering one or more of the three fields. There has never been a case where this is not so except in the very first release of FSUIPC 3.00 where accented characters were converted incorrectly. If you truly believe you are entering everything absolutely correctly, character for character, then please send all the details -- name, address/email (whichever you are using) and Key, and I'll check it. Don't post it here, send it to petedowson@btconnect.com. As to the question about you being restricted from my computer, there was a pop up saying I should check to see if your site was restricted. I've no idea what "site" that is, as I don't have one, and there's certainly no messages in any of my programs like that. Now as to changing my sign in name I made a mistake in the origional sign up and I don't like using my full name in these forums. Ah, you mean signing in here, in the Forum -- I assumed you were talking about your name in the Registration. I don't care how you enter this forum, that is totally and completely irrelevant to FSUIPC Registration. Please let's just stick to the subject else it starts getting weird and confusing! ;-0 No crook here. As to buying a new key again, no, I won't do that. Well, naturally, there's no need if you have one of your own and not someone else's, as you seemed to imply. All we've got to do is get you inputting the correct data, and I'm sure it will be fine. It was only that you did ask how to get a new key and I told you. Regards Pete
Pete Dowson Posted April 6, 2009 Report Posted April 6, 2009 I did enter the right info and it just would not work. Thanks for the data, just received. It appears that you are entering the Key incorrectly. Please do make sure that you get EVERY character in it correct -- especially take care to get 0 and O, 1 and l, and 2 and Z distinguished. They ARE different characters! This is why we always suggest using cut-and-paste. Pete
Ralph Lawhon- Jr. Posted April 6, 2009 Author Report Posted April 6, 2009 Pete, Thanks from a computer dummy. It worked. RLJR
rthrosby Posted April 10, 2009 Report Posted April 10, 2009 Have recently transfered my FS9 to a new PC, using Vista Home Premium SP1. FS9 works very well. Today I tried to access my FSUIPC v3.8 which used to be registered on my old PC. In FS9 I clicked on Modules \ FSUIP, the screen went blank, so I went back onto desktop. FS9 showing at bottom of screen, but would not re-display. Needed re-boot to clear. Downloaded FSUIPC 3.9 and installed as per instructions. Same on screen access behaviour. Two questions:- 1.Anybody out there got any ideas of a fix? 2.If fixed will my previous Key, etc. be usable? NB. I'm no geek, by any stretch of the imagination, but you've probably guessed that anyway!! Roy Throsby.

Two questions:- 1.Anybody out there got any ideas of a fix? 2.If fixed will my previous Key, etc. be usable? 1. The fix lies in getting working Video drivers. This is a well known problem with FS and some drivers on some video cards. You might be able to get around it by running FS in Windowed mode. 2. Your FSUIPC3 key applies to any installation of any version of FSUIPC3 on any of your systems. Please check the instructions -- to register under Vista you have to temporarily run FS9 "as administator". Regards Pete
rthrosby Posted April 11, 2009 Report Posted April 11, 2009 Thanks for the fast response. Updated drivers, still the same. Ran FS in Windowed mode. Able to register OK. Best regards, Roy Throsby.
Pete Dowson Posted April 11, 2009 Report Posted April 11, 2009 Thanks for the fast response. Updated drivers, still the same. I didn't say "updated" drivers -- what you want is drivers which work. That isn't always the more recent versions! Regards Pete
rthrosby Posted April 12, 2009 Report Posted April 12, 2009 Sorry about the mis-understanding. I'm using the Nvidia 9800 graphics card on a "state of the art" machine and never thought it might be a problem. At least the registration problem was fixed. Not sure what I can do about the card. Thanks again for the advice. Roy Throsby.

Thanks again for the advice. Roy Throsby. Hmm. I'm using two overclocked BFG 9800 GTX+ cards in separate PCs, both running Vista 64 and Windows 7 Ultimate 64 (dual booting), and have no problems since version 181.xx of the nVidia drivers. But versions between 179.xx and 180.xx most certainly had frequent problems with black screens -- only ever in full screen mode though. I found the frame rate was just as good in maximised windowed mode, and the graphics sharper-looking, in any case, so I tend to prefer that mode. But certainly full screen mode has been okay with the latest version 181.xx (.22 I think? Not sure at present). Regards Pete
