FSUIPC/WideFS - (Re-)Registration boxes freeze

Hi,

I have just upgraded from XP32 and reinstalled FS9 on a new VISTA64 machine. Unfortunately I cannot re-register both FSUIPC (3.90) and WideFS. Each time I try the respective registration box opens showing name and email and blank key-fields. But then the cursors blinks two times and after one or two seconds FS9 (and of course the registration box) hangs up.

I have started FS9 as administrator as suggested. I have also tried deleting the .ini and the .key and even reduced the resolution in FS9's display options but nothing has helped so far.

Any ideas?

This is almost always caused by another add-in module in the FS modules folder which is hooking the keyboard and hanging because it is in an unexpected place. The main culprit is usually Actigate.DLL, though it only seems to do this on some systems (I've never been able to reproduce it here).

Check your Modules folder for any non-FS modules that may be loading, Actigate.DLL especially. You may need to move them out temporarily to get passed this problem.
