astros Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 Hello, May somebody help me in solving a problem with FSUIPC4. Further a normal installation with the new module subdirectory in FSX enclosing the FSUIP files as well as the DLL, the add-on item in the FSX toolbar and access to FSUIPC impossible. All installation or reinstallation of both FSX and FSUIPC4 were made with antivirus and firewall deactivated. Herafter (enclosing impossible) the log of the last FSUIPC4 installation. Thanks by anticipation for any help in solving this difficulty wich does not allow using other add-on like FlightCommander. Pete Dowson Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 Further a normal installation with the new module subdirectory in FSX enclosing the FSUIP files as well as the DLL, the add-on item in the FSX toolbar and access to FSUIPC impossible. Sorry, can you re-phrase that at all? What are you saying about the "new module subdirectory"? You didn't create that yourself, surely? You should just run the Installer, that does everything. All installation or reinstallation of both FSX and FSUIPC4 were made with antivirus and firewall deactivated. I'm not sure that's at all relevant. I've never heard of anything in those being any problem at all. Herafter (enclosing impossible) the log of the last FSUIPC4 installation. Okay. I'll look at that now, but is there a normal FSUIPC4.LOG file too? If there's no FSUIPC4.LOG and no FSUIPC4.INI file in the modules folder, then FSUIPC4 isn't being run, so that would indicate a SimConnect problem. You say this is the Install log from the last FSUIPC4 installation. does this mean you installed before? If so, did you delete things at all, because these lines: Checking if there's already a version of FSUIPC4 installed in:C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Modules\FSUIPC4.DLL ... No previous valid version found. FSX Modules folder created okay! show that, in this specific installation of FSX, there was no Modules folder and no FSUIPC4 installed! However, these lines: Now checking DLL.XML ...... There is a previous DLL.XML, checking for FSUIPC4 section. No previous FSUIPC4 entry found, so adding it now ... ... FSUIPC4 section of DLL.XML written okay show that you already had some other SimConnect client program installed, with its own DLL. Which one was this, please? Perhaps you can show me the DLL.XML file in case that is corrupted. You'll find it, as specified in the log, in this folder: C:\Users\Philippe\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX By the way, what happened to the end of the Install log -- it is unfinished! Regards Pete
astros Posted May 23, 2009 Author Report Posted May 23, 2009 Hello, Many thanks for the various ways to be checked mainly the Simconnect feature. This has allowed me to discover a rather stupidious ommission since after some reinstallation I've forget to reload SP1 containing the suitable Simconnect. Now everything seems on the good way. Best Regards Ph.Dussert
