GPI Steve Posted August 19, 2009 Report Posted August 19, 2009 Hello, i am quite new to the world of fsuipc and i have v4.52 registered and installed. i have 1 bu0836x card for a small overhead and all buttons are interfaced thru' fsuipc, the same goes for my ch throttle quadrant, joysticks disabled in fsx and working fine thru' fsuipc. now comes the strange part... i also use a saitek flight yoke (without the throttle) and had a few problems with phantom key presses. So i deleted every key and button assignment in fsx and fsuipc associated with the flight yoke, then just assigned my elevator and aileron axis for it thru' fsuipc. When adding a few more toggle switches from my ovh and bu0836x card i used the normal procedure but noticed when i switched the new button to assign it, my saitek yoke had been assigned a number of actions like landing lights etc.. i know for sure i didnt assign them??? then as im about to assign a function for my new switch from the fs dropdown within fsuipc the assignment changes by itself from joystick 0 button ? (the bu0836x card) to the joystick number 2 ( assigned to saitek yoke) and i find again 2 or 3 fresh button assignments linked to the yoke. I can replace the yoke if its faulty but i cant understand fsuipc assigning buttons by itself.... i cant see how?? sorry for the long winded post and lack of paragraphs im on my laptop and the return key wont work lol thankyou for your time regards steve
Pete Dowson Posted August 19, 2009 Report Posted August 19, 2009 ... noticed when i switched the new button to assign it, my saitek yoke had been assigned a number of actions like landing lights etc.. i know for sure i didnt assign them??? then as im about to assign a function for my new switch from the fs dropdown within fsuipc the assignment changes by itself from joystick 0 button ? There's no way FSUIPC ever makes assignments by itself, but there was a known problem with the early firmware of the Saitek yoke where it was generating spurious button presses. I even added a facility in FSUIPC to deal with it -- look up "EliminateTransients" in the FSUIPC4 Advanced Users document. I can replace the yoke if its faulty but i cant understand fsuipc assigning buttons by itself.... i cant see how? It cannot. But as well as trying that EliminateTransients option, you might want to try the most recent version of FSUIPC4 -- 4.526 from the Updates announcement above. Regards Pete
GPI Steve Posted August 20, 2009 Author Report Posted August 20, 2009 Thankyou for the speedy response pete. I shall update and take a look at eliminate transients this morning and post back my results.
GPI Steve Posted August 20, 2009 Author Report Posted August 20, 2009 ok i am at my sim computer now so i can type properly lol. I inserted the line " Eliminate Transients = Yes " into the INI file and after a couple of hours i can report no more issues, Thankyou. My other buttons dont seem to need to be pressed for any longer than normal so hopefully this is the issue fixed. As long as i understood the instructions correctly from the advanced user pdf that is :? as im not brilliant with a computer. Hopefully everything will be good now. Thanks again for your time Steve
