birdie38 Posted October 2, 2009 Report Posted October 2, 2009 Hello Pete, Firstly excuse my english which is very poor. I have reinstalled FSX, run it once and then FSUIPC. FSUIPC don't works. I haven't "add on" in the menu bar. I have reinstalled the SimConnect files as you recommend, i have create a simconnect.ini in flight simulator X files but i don't find simconnect.log. My FSUIPC.log says that: Running inside FSX (using SimConnect SP1 May07) Module base=61000000 Wind smoothing fix is fully installed DebugStatus=15 250 System time = 02/10/2009 11:09:59 250 FLT UNC path = "C:\Documents and Settings\Guy.RETRAITE-F67432\Mes documents\Fichiers Flight Simulator X\" 250 FS UNC path = "G:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight SimulatorX\" 1484 LogOptions=00000000 00000001 2718 Failed on SimConnect_Open, return = 0x80004005: FSUIPC4 cannot operate! 2718Now trying to connect to another version of SimConnect ... 2750 Now running with SimConnect Original 3812 Failed on SimConnect_Open, return = 0x80004005: FSUIPC4 cannot operate! 3812Now trying to connect to another version of SimConnect ... 3812 Could not link to all needed SimConnect facilities 23422 **** Retrying SimConnect connection**** 23422 Could not link to all needed SimConnect facilities [code 0] 38437 **** Retrying SimConnect connection**** 38437 Could not link to all needed SimConnect facilities [code 0] 53500 **** Retrying SimConnect connection**** 53500 Could not link to all needed SimConnect facilities [code 0] 68562 **** Retrying SimConnect connection**** 68562 Could not link to all needed SimConnect facilities [code 0] 83656 **** Retrying SimConnect connection**** 83656 Could not link to all needed SimConnect facilities [code 0] 98718 **** Retrying SimConnect connection**** 98718 Could not link to all needed SimConnect facilities [code 0] 113750 **** Retrying SimConnect connection**** 113750 Could not link to all needed SimConnect facilities [code 0] 128781 **** Retrying SimConnect connection**** 128781 Could not link to all needed SimConnect facilities [code 0] 135687 System time = 02/10/2009 11:12:15 135687 *** FSUIPC log file being closedMemory managed: 2 Allocs, 2 Freed********* FSUIPC Log file closed ***********What do you think about this mystery and what can i do apart throw my computer through the window?!Best regardsGuy Noel
Pete Dowson Posted October 2, 2009 Report Posted October 2, 2009 I have reinstalled FSX, run it once and then FSUIPC. FSUIPC don't works. I haven't "add on" in the menu bar. I have reinstalled the SimConnect files as you recommend, i have create a simconnect.ini in flight simulator X files but i don't find simconnect.log. My FSUIPC.log says You certainly still have a broken FSX installation. The SimConnect installation is incorrect. Check that the ONLY place you have any SimConnect DLLs is in the Windows "WinSxS" folders, or maybe in your FSX SDK folders if you have installed the SDK. This error: 2718 Failed on SimConnect_Open, return = 0x80004005: FSUIPC4 cannot operate! is direct from SimConnect and says that the version of the DLL loaded in FSX is incompatible with that version of FSX. I've seen it most often when you, or another program, has incorrectly placed a part of SimConnect into the FSX folders or even the Modules folder. What do you think about this mystery and what can i do apart throw my computer through the window?! Well, that's one option I suppose, if you've no other use for it -- though taking it to the city dump would be tidier. No, joking aside, I'd guess either the above diagnosis is correct, or your attempt at reinstalling SimConnect files was wrong. What was actually wrong in the first place, that you went to such measures? Have you previously been uninstalling and reinstalling FSX or its updates? That always seems to make a right mess of things. FSX simply does not uninstall properly. You may need to start again. If so, do it in reverse order: uninstall SP2 or Acceleration first, if you have it, then SP1, then FSX, and then delete the two or three SimConnect WinSxS folders. Only then install the FSX base, run it once, then SP1, run it once, then SP2. If you have Acceleration, install that instead of SP1 and SP2. Regards Pete

birdie38 Posted October 3, 2009 Author Report Posted October 3, 2009 Hello Pete, A ton of thanks for you! I have followed your recommendation and FSUIPC works now very well You wrote: "You may need to start again. I deleted FSX and SP1 together, i think my error was there. After a week of research you gave me the solution. I am very grateful for you Guy Noel
Pete Dowson Posted October 4, 2009 Report Posted October 4, 2009 A ton of thanks for you! I have followed your recommendation and FSUIPC works now very well Good! Now enjoy flying! ;-) Pete
Josef King Posted October 10, 2009 Report Posted October 10, 2009 Due to PC crashes I reinstalled XP HE, reloaded everything but then had SimConnect problem, repaired, reinstalled FSX thrice no good. Having made other errors I Reinstalled XP HE again and loaded all on, FSX another three times with same result. having read on your forum on this I found three emty folders in windows, first marked:- (revealed by curser on folder) x86_Microsoft.Flight simulator.Sim Connect.67c7c 14424d61b5b_10.0.60905.0_x-ww_429211e9 Folder is empty. The other two have different numbers If I make a new folder in the FSX folder (programme files) with this folder id, then delete the relevent empty folders in windows, then repair FSX might this work? Or any other suggestions please. Thank you. Josef king.

If I make a new folder in the FSX folder (programme files) with this folder id, then delete the relevent empty folders in windows, then repair FSX might this work? Or any other suggestions please. Thank you. Josef king. Do not create any folders yourself! There's much more to it than that, and those weird numbers are not predictable. Just delete the three SimConnect folders in the Windows "WinSxS" folder, then run the install for FSX base edition to repair that, run FSX once, install SP1, run FSX once, then install SP2 (or Acceleration). Pete
Josef King Posted October 10, 2009 Report Posted October 10, 2009 Peter. I moved those three folders to the flight simulator folder (Microsoft warn against deleting but do not mention not moving the folder/folders) the subsequent repair failed as I had damaged FSX with my tinkering so I reinstalled it and found the new folder for Sim Connect was loaded in the windows folder where it obviously wants to be. FSUIPC4 then loaded ok and I have made a succesful flight. I assume that I can now delete the three empty folders sitting in FSX. Thank you very much
Pete Dowson Posted October 11, 2009 Report Posted October 11, 2009 I assume that I can now delete the three empty folders sitting in FSX. Yes. They won't be used at all. Regards Pete
Josef King Posted October 11, 2009 Report Posted October 11, 2009 Peter. Thank you very much. Josef King.
