pilota Posted November 17, 2009 Report Posted November 17, 2009 I had not needed FSUIPC for a while but recently bought a DesktopAviator Auto Pilot which must be programmed trough the utility. When I open FSUIPC I get the window with all tabs but it does not open completely so I can't reach the options I need. Can someone tell me how this can happen??? and what do I do to solve the problem and get on with my cockpit. :x :x :x .....see photo enclosed...
Pete Dowson Posted November 17, 2009 Report Posted November 17, 2009 When I open FSUIPC I get the window with all tabs but it does notopen completely so I can't reach the options I need. Can someone tell me how this can happen??? It's due to a mismatch in the font size computations in Windows and the COMCTL32.DLL, and it has plagued me for several years, as it only affects a handful of users per year and I could never reproduce it. However, recently I found a solution published on some deep-down Microsoft website, and applied that, and according to folks who have tried it, it works okay! and what do I do to solve the problem and get on with my cockpit. Always check for updates, preferably before posting, because very often your problem would have been known and fixed beforehand. You can check for updates by simply looking in the Announcements at the top of this forum. Regards Pete
pilota Posted November 18, 2009 Author Report Posted November 18, 2009 Hi Pete.... Thanks for the quick reply but No Go!!!! I have the latest update and nothing happens.....what now????
Pete Dowson Posted November 18, 2009 Report Posted November 18, 2009 Thanks for the quick reply but No Go!!!! I have the latest update and nothing happens.....what now???? The "latest version" being what number, exactly, please? A lot of folks say such things, but "latest version" really means nothing without stating the numbers. Can you show me a picture of the first TAB, the "About" one, so I can see for myself? I ask this because in two different cases of this problem reported only recently, both were fixed by the updates I posted. If you are using 3.945 as I suggested, and still have the problem then I am completely mystified. Why would the changes fix other folks' systems and not yours? Pete
pilota Posted November 19, 2009 Author Report Posted November 19, 2009 Now am more mystified!!!!...you say to get Version 3.945 but I cant find that version anywhere, I checked your site and the last version is what I got ... FSUIPC4 4.53.." NEW Full release of FSUIPC 4 (incorporating WideFS 7) for use with FSX August 28th 2009 (3.3 MB)"...... Here is the pic you want...if you tell me where I can download 3.945 I surely will, I have the problem and need to solve it....Thank You.

Oh dear. First of all, you don't get 4.53 from "my site" but from Enrico Schirrati's site. I don''t have a website and I have no direct control over any. Second, why not simply look at the Announcements in this Forum some time? They are full of useful information. In particular look at the Updates & Other Goodies announcement where you'll always find the very latest interim updates. :D Since my last message to you, 3.945 has been made obsolete and 3.946 is the latest. There's another due soon. Pete

Anyone out there!!!!!!!!....and I was going to get more hardware needing your program for Chritmas!!!! H.e.l.p. ---S.O.S---Socorro!!!!---Auito!!!!! please anyone.....Thanks.
Pete Dowson Posted November 19, 2009 Report Posted November 19, 2009 Oh Man, now am in trouble allright, I tried that!!! the 3.946 did not take me a step further from the problem. Where's the picture to prove it? It really does sound as it you are still running 3.93. Please check the main About tab in the obtains -- I suspect you didn't install the update in the real Modules folder, only the Alias.. BTW, did you try 3.947, released in the Updates announcement today? Pete
pilota Posted November 19, 2009 Author Report Posted November 19, 2009 You sure are quick, thanks  .....as soon as I get home I´ll try it. Thank you, I´ll cross my fingers until then........ , my cockpit project is going down the drain.....If 4. is for FSX, why would 3 work....?
Pete Dowson Posted November 19, 2009 Report Posted November 19, 2009 You sure are quick, thanks  .....as soon as I get home I´ll try it. Thank you, I´ll cross my fingers until then........ , my cockpit project is going down the drain.....If 4. is for FSX, why would 3 work....? Ah. sorry. I really hadn't noticed you were using FSX. I should pay more attention to the pictures. You didn't actually say which version you were using till just! ;-) Of course version 3 will not work in FSX. Mea culpa. In the Updates & Goodies announcement did you not see the latest for FSX? 4.551 is there now. Try that. Pete
