Problem Console Window & GPS 500

I'm using your tick of monitoring the console window to get FSX Control names. Unfortunately the Garmin GPS 500 does not display any control names when I rotate knobs of hit any buttons.

I have all Log Details selected in FSUIPC.

In that case it doesn't use any.

Hi Pete,

There are several control names that begin with the letters GPS. All of these control words make a change at the GPS 500. I'm confused at why FSUIPC is not showing control words in the console window?

By the way did I say....awesome software :-)

You mean Event logging?

FSUIPC can only intercept and log controls sent through FS's "clearing house", the place where it directs all the controls to their correct places.

I am guessing that the GPS is relatively self-contained, that it need not send controls to FS's main routines only to be redirected back for it to action. Evidently the FS controls were added by the FS programmers merely to allow key or button assignment to them. I just wish they'd done that with all of them, and that add-on panel makers would do likewise! ;-)
