cmenge
Hi Pete, We are currently using FSUIPC to control are 172 radio's. Things are working well but we are having a little trouble with switching the transponder to different modes (ALT, ON, TST, SBY, OFF). After running a few tests it would seem the "stock" transponder modes can not be changed with keyboard short-cuts. We are looking for a basic transponder that can fit the Cessna 172 radio stack and can be switched into different modes using FSUIPC. Can you make any recommendations? Thanks! FS doesn't simulate transponder modes in any case -- this is why there are no controls. Regards Pete
cmenge
FS doesn't simulate transponder modes in any case -- this is why there are no controls. Is there a third party plug-in that will simulate this and work with FSUIPC? Thanks! C
Pete Dowson
Is there a third party plug-in that will simulate this and work with FSUIPC? Not that I know of. What would such a simulation actually do? Unless you are actually connected to an ATC which needs to receive the transponder, the operation in the different modes is pretty much invisible -- bar perhaps the flashing "reception" indicator. I simulate that on the PFC transponder, including the longer flash when ID is pressed, indicating the longer ID response. If you fly on-line using FSInn or Squwakbox then they implement their own means of getting the transponder mode indicated to them. Squawkbox 3 on FS9 uses FSUIPC for this, but Squawkbox 4 and FSInn do not. Regards Pete
