Barbs Posted January 3, 2010 Report Posted January 3, 2010 Hi, Since a recent re-install of my system (win7 64) I have not been able to get a button mapping to gear up/dn properly. The settings through FSUIPC work normally but when I go to raise or lower gear, the correct sound effect plays but the gear state does not change. To bring gear up or down I need to press G or use a mouse click and it works. This happens with both default and payware aircraft. Any ideas? Greg

Both "G" and clicking the mouse generate a GEAR TOGGLE control, as you would see if you enabled FSUIPC's event logging. What are you assigning the Button to? If it is to Gear Tooggle there cannot be a difference. If the gear changing sound occurs then most certainly FS things the gear is moving. Have you looked on the outside view to check? Pete
Barbs Posted January 16, 2010 Author Report Posted January 16, 2010 Hi Peter, I am assigning "Gear Toggle" to a button on my CH Yoke. I've had this working in the past so I'm not sure what it different. When I use the assigned button, as I said I hear the gear extension/retraction sound but the lever doesn't move and the gear on the aircraft (from outside view) don't move either. This happens with payware and default aircraft.

Does it work from the keyboard? (G normally). Enable Button and Event logging in FSUIPC, operate the button, see what the Log shows. See if it is different from what happens with the "G" key. If the GEAR TOGGLE control is being sent but FS is not obeying it, you have some sort of corruption in your FS installation. Regards Pete
Barbs Posted January 18, 2010 Author Report Posted January 18, 2010 Hi Pete, Pressing G or operating the mouse clickspot works normally. I will run the log next time I fly and report back.
