I've purchased a registered copy of FSUIPC however a week later my machine had a virus, I have installed a new drive now, my question is can I use the key that came with purchase?

Of course. It isn't tied to any specific hardware, it is tied to you, the purchaser. Just re-enter your registration details exactly as you first did.
