johncrockatt Posted February 7, 2010 Report Posted February 7, 2010 I downloaded FSUIPC4 for FSX and successfully registered it. The next day I downloaded WideFS 7. I have totally failed to find how to register it. In former days one went into FS, brought up FSUIPC in Modules and there were buttons for registering both FSUIPC and WideFS. Now for WideFS it says "Register in Installation page". I can't find the installation page without buying another copy. I have sent three messages to SimMarket, but they reply with quite mindless answers. They are obviously just taking a standard letter out of the file and hoping for the best. I have used FSUIPC and WideFS for years, I have them in FS9. I have FSUIPC in FSX. I have paid for WideFS7 but can't register it. I have spent hours on this, and am totally frustrated. I beg you to give me simple directions that can be understood by one who is not a computer expert, as to how to register WideFS7. Sincerely John Crockatt
Pete Dowson Posted February 7, 2010 Report Posted February 7, 2010 I downloaded FSUIPC4 for FSX and successfully registered it. The next day I downloaded WideFS 7. Now for WideFS it says "Register in Installation page". I can't find the installation page without buying another copy. Just run the "Install FSUIPC" program again, the same one you used in the first place to install FSUIPC. There's no point in buying another copy, and nothing refers to a "page" in any case. That installer program is the installer. The registration for both FSUIPC and WideFS is there. Exactly as described in the little Installation document included in the ZIP and illustated in pictures both in that document and in the User Guide. The reason the registration is performed in the Installer is that it, and only it, has the necessary privileges when using Vista or Windows 7. Regards Pete
johncrockatt Posted February 11, 2010 Author Report Posted February 11, 2010 Pete, Just to thank you for your help. Wide FS is now registered, and all is working properly. Many thanks. John Crockatt
