FSUIPC not recognising wideFS

Recommended Posts

I cannot get a connection between FSUIPC on the server with WideFS on the client in a new instillation fs9 on Windows 7 64 bit system. I have FSX installed in another directory on the same computer as well and FSUIPC works normally. Homegroup named correctly and all folders fully shared with full permissions.

The following is the install log: -

“Installer for FSUIPC.DLL version 3.98a

Searching register etc – omitted.

===========================================================

INSTALLATION FOR FS9:

EXE Path="C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9"

Checking if there's already a version of FSUIPC installed in:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Modules\FSUIPC.DLL

... Version 3.980 found.

Okay -- installed FSUIPC into "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Modules\FSUIPC.DLL"

"Modules\FSUIPC Documents" folder already exists.

There is no WideServer.log on server for FS9 – should there be as there is one in the FSX install?

If WideServer is running there is always a WideServer log file produced. It sounds like you've not installed it. Don't forget that for FS9 and before WideServer is a separate module, not part of FSUIPC as it is for FSX. The title of your message seems to indicate that you believe WideServer is not an entity in itelf. It is -- for FSX it was simply compiled into the same module as FSUIPC, but that was never done for the first 12 years. In fact WideFS first existed before FSUIPC.

Pete

Thanks,

Being a FSX pilot returning to FS9 I was under the impression that the FSUIPC for both sims was the same. I put WideFS into the odules folder and all works correctly.

Thanks again.

Is there an FSUIPC4.LOG file in the Modules folder? If so, it won't be a DLL.XML problem -- show me the Log file please.

After what you said, I realised there is no FSUIPC4.LOG file

So it is a DLL.XML problem.

But this is the install log

You posted that before. Two copies don't help more than one! ;-)

Your DLL.XML is in error somewhere, but as I said before:

I'm afraid I can't tell from the posted copy whether it is okay or not. This new forum software seems to remove all of the control lines. Could you try putting files into "code" brackets? (after pasting, select the data and click the "<>" button above the message entry area).

Sorry i mean files in code brackets

I did explain. did you not see? ("after pasting, select the data and click the "<>" button above the message entry area"). Can't you see that button? In the line showing B I U S etc (for Bold, Italic, Underline, Strikethrough). The <> button is one from the end.
