PhilippM Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 Hi Pete, I have a question regarding those two offsets. What is the relation between the "turn coordinator ball position" and the "side-slip angle". Theoretically, it is up to the gauge designer on how much sideslip means full scale on the gauge. One could vary the curvature of the glass tube to vary this relation. But I don't believe this is modelled in FS, so in some way there is an aircraft-independant correlation of 0x036e and 0x2ed8. Unfortunately, getting enough samples (by carefully trimming an aircraft in various amounts of sideslip) and plotting them is hard, especially if the correlation is a sine or tangent, which seems most natural to me. So, can you tell me the exact correlation in FS? Regards, Philipp
Pete Dowson Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 What is the relation between the "turn coordinator ball position" and the "side-slip angle". Sorry, I've no idea. The only information I have is from the FSX/ESP SimConnect SDK, which says this for 2ED8: INCIDENCE BETA / Sideslip angle / Radians and this for 036E: TURN COORDINATOR BALL / Turn coordinator ball position / Position 128 (-127 to 127) So, can you tell me the exact correlation in FS? You might want to post this question in an FS aircraft designer's forum. Sorry, it is beyond my knowledge. Regards Pete
PhilippM Posted July 14, 2010 Author Report Posted July 14, 2010 'kay, thanks. :) Subject to further investigation, then.
