I bought fsuipc4. I finally realized in order to make a different control profile for 10 or so planes (doing this for my boss), i had to diable the controller inside fsx. I configured, and calibrated in fsuipc4 and the controls move the onscreen graphical control stuff and the buttons seem to work but the aircraft doesn't actually react. Its like the fsx software sees the control movement in one sense but not completely or all through out. What I mean by the onscreen graphical control stuff is the cockpit.

Please help because I'm way over do on this assignment.

That is only true if you want to use different controllers for different aircraft. If all you want are different calibrations, response slopes and other settings for different aircraft then you can still assign the controllers in FS and simply calibrate and make settings in FSUIPC.

In the title you gave to this thread you specifically said "throttles" yet in the text you seem to imply all controls -- elevator, aileron, rudder? Which is true? Also in the title you said "sometimes" yet again in the text you imply that it is always the case. Can you clarify these issues please. Different symptoms would lead to different conclusions.

Is this with only specific add-on aircraft, or all including defaults? I've never heard of any such symptom at all asnd FSUIPC has been in use for things like this for 12 years now. Evidently a lot more information is needed:

1. Version number of FSUIPC4 (if not at least 4.60 then please update and re-test before replying).

2. Update state of FSX

3. Your FSUIPC4.INI file

4. The identity of the aircraft concerned.

It sounds to me as if these problems are related to very specific add-on aircraft which may be reading the controls themselves in any case, so how you actually assign them becomes critical. Apart from assignment in FSX itself (which is the easiest way and which you shouldn't have abandoned so lightly), there are several ways of assigning in FSUIPC4 -- direct to calibration, or via FS controls. If you assign direct to FS, bypassing the FS controls, you can defeat the inputs which some (but very few) add-on aircraft expect. The answer for them, if you must assign in FSUIPC, is to assign to the correct FS controls.

Dear Mr. Dowson,

The problem was in axis assignment in fsuipc4 I didn't set the thing "direct to calibration" (top option). So far that fixed all my problems. Sorry for the confusion.

-frogoon

the below info was before I realized what the problem was

thanks for responding

The problem with all the axes/controls. The problem is both with standard planes like the Blue Angel and downloaded planes like a military P3. I can't figure out if its just the throttles or not because the ailerons and elevators do move the cockpit and the outside of the plane. The throttle does not move the plane and the breaks are off. All the controls including the throttle do move the cockpit though. Although flaps doesn't react right. the flaps lever just goes real high then comes back down when I touch the physical/controller/lever for throttle.

I have the latest version. I bought the version off your mainwebsite. When I had the problems above I upgrade to the latest version (version 4627) from the forum I still had the same problem. I have atleast service pack 1 maybe service pack 2 on fsx.

As for the identity of the aircraft: lets just say were working with the Blue angel which comes with fsx (I do have the certified expansion pack so maybe it comes with that).

I do have two sets of controls to switch between. A Thrustmaster Hotas Cougar with CH pedals and CH flight yoke with throttle quadrant and the CH pedals. But if we can get it to work with the CH products that would be fine for now.
