FSUIPC problem with fsx installation

Hi Mr. Pete,

Greetings! I just want to ask about the fsuipc issue with my fsx installation. I'm finding answers to my problem in other forums but can't find any.

In the installation, it says that there is some some sort of problem with my simconnect blah blah................

Here is the log, a short one:

Installer for FSUIPC4.DLL version 4.60a

Looking in registry for FSX install path:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator\10.0

Parameter"SetupPath"

... >>> OK! FOUND FSX! <<< ...

Looking in registry for ESP install path:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft ESP\1.0

Parameter"SetupPath"

Not there, so looking in:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft ESP\1.0

Parameter"AppPath"

... NOT found! ...

INSTALLATION FOR FSX:

AppPath="C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\"

Checking version of FSX.EXE:

... Version 10.0.61637.0 (Need at least 10.0.60905.0)

Checking compatibility with installed SimConnect:

... Probe Manifest fails to match a valid SimConnect needed to use FSUIPC4!

Looks like your FSX installation is corrupted. Have you been uninstalling or reinstalling FSX at all? That often seems to mess SimConnect up because it gets half-uninstalled and then won't reinstall correctly.

You don't provide many details, so I'm not sure how to advise you on your next step. Installing FSX SP1 and SP2, or FSX Acceleration, might fix it. You could also try using my more recent Installer, for FSUIPC 4.638, which you'll find in the Download Links subforum. That does try a few different things extra.

Failing that the next step depends on what version of Windows you are using. With vista or Win7 it is very difficult to fix manually (I've got the same problem on one PC which I simply cannot fix unless I reinstall Windows, and I'm not doing that).
