JoseVazquez Posted February 15, 2011 Report Posted February 15, 2011 I recently bought a new computer for FSX, it runs Win 7 64bits and has no COM ports. When trying to connect my PFC throttle console using a serial-USB adapter (Belkin F5U109) in the PFC control connections check I get COM3 open connection OK but from there on "no results seen at all!" I went back to the old computer running Win XP 32bits with one COM port. When connected to the COM port, the PFC console works perfectly. Then I connected through the same serial-USB adapter and I get the same connection problem. In each case I installed the appropiate driver for the adapter and I can see the COM3 available. I have no other PFC modles installed. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

I had great difficulty getting decent drivers for those cheaper adapters, expecially 64-bit ones. You could check the FTDI site. Most adapters use their chips/. 3. The adapter itself is broken. I gave up on those adapter things. Even when you get one that weorks they start playing up after a while and become unreliable. I invested in a BrainBoxes PCI serial port card. Perfect. Good drivers, reliable operation. They cost around 10 times as much (50 UKP rather than 5-10 for an adapter), but it's been well worthwhile for me. Regards Pete
