TSP-195 Posted July 17, 2011 Report Posted July 17, 2011 Hi, I recently installed FSUIPC (latest version) and went to load FSX. FSX loaded for approx. 3 mins and then closed. Pete Dowson Posted July 17, 2011 Report Posted July 17, 2011 I recently installed FSUIPC (latest version) and went to load FSX. FSX loaded for approx. 3 mins and then closed. It did not freeze, just closed. I tried many more times but it continued to repeat the process. FSUIPC4 never closes FSX on its own. You have something else going on, maybe with another add-on. However, there is certainly a serious problem, as illustrated by this entry in the FSUIPC log: 59391 Exception 5 "VERSION_MISMATCH", Ref 0, Version 0.60905: Open: SimConnect Version incorrect! This implies that you have a mis-installed FSX. This part of the Install log shows what it is: Checking version of FSX.EXE:... Version 10.0.60905.0 (Need at least 10.0.60905.0) Checking compatibility with installed SimConnect: Found SimConnect build 60905 (Original) Found SimConnect build 61242 (SP1 May07) Found SimConnect build 61259 (Acc/SP2 Oct07) So, whilst you have the original, unmodified, version of FSX installed, you also have all three versions of SimConnect -- including the latest, the one installed with SP2 or Acceleration. Naturally FSUIPC wants to use the latest version as that provides all the best facilities it uses, and is relatively bug-free. I don't know how you got FSX into such a state, but you either need to somehow uninstall SimConnect SP1 and SP2 (and I don't know how without reinstalling Windows), or install FSX updates SP1 and SP2 (or Acceleration). Regards Pete
TSP-195 Posted July 17, 2011 Author Report Posted July 17, 2011 Thanks a lot for your quick reply, Pete. Aha! We may have found the problem... I have not installed Acceleration since reinstalling FSX. If I was to install the Acceleration pack, would that fix the problem? Thanks again, Matthew
Pete Dowson Posted July 17, 2011 Report Posted July 17, 2011 I have not installed Acceleration since reinstalling FSX. If I was to install the Acceleration pack, would that fix the problem? Yes, there's a very good chance that will fix it. When you uninstalled FSX in order to reinstall it, it wouldn't have uninstalled the newer SimConnects. That's one of FSX's "uninstall" problems. Regards Pete
