Balvenie Posted July 18, 2011 Report Posted July 18, 2011 Hello, We've been developping some applications around FS2004 using FSUIPC 3.48, and now wish to duplicate this. I need to purchase a new FSUIPC licence, which is available only for version 3.99. Can this licence key be used with the v3.48 we've been using so far, and which we do not wish to upgrade to the latest version ? Thanks for helping Regards
Pete Dowson Posted July 18, 2011 Report Posted July 18, 2011 Lucky I saw your post which you placed into the FAQ subforum, not in the Support Forum. I've moved it for you. Er, can you please explain what you mean about a license in this context? do you mean a commercial applications license fee? Or do you mean the normal user registration fee for access to FSUIPC's user facilities? Can this licence key be used with the v3.48 we've been using so far, and which we do not wish to upgrade to the latest version ? Sorry, you cannot stay with 3.48 and expect any support. Why on Earth would you want to stay with such an out of date version? Pete

The license key I am referring to is probably what you call User Registration. My point is that I need to duplicate an installation of FS2004 and all the environment that goe with it. I have a second FS license and I guess I need one for FSUIPC as well, or anything equivalent. The environment was developed some years ago and works perfectly well. We don't want to upgrade to a newer version of anything, including FSUIPC to avoid any possible rework, due to some changes in interface or behavior. That's why I am asking if the older version will work with a new registration key. Balvenie

There's no changed in behaviour by keeping FSUIPC up to date, except bugs will have been fixed and, mostly, new facilities added. Pete
Balvenie Posted July 21, 2011 Author Report Posted July 21, 2011 Thanks Pete for your cristal clear answer. I should perhaps give a try to the latest version... Balvenie
