Pete Dowson Posted August 29, 2011 Report Posted August 29, 2011 i am brand new here at simflight and do have a problem with using a saitek multiswitchpanel with fsuipc version 3.9.9.1 with my fs9 rig! Are Saitek using FSUIPC still, without permission and without paying any license fee? They once agreed to pay, then suddenly decided not to, after an invoice was issued. After that they never respond. i run fsuipc as admin..... attached is my fsuipc.ini and win7 failure protocol ....... There's nothing in either which points to FSUIPC. I think you have to go to Saitek. I won't support them and I take great objection to them still using FSUIPC after their disgusting treatment of my efforts. Regards Pete
Rickda Posted August 29, 2011 Author Report Posted August 29, 2011 hi pete .... therefor its my problem now ??!! ;-( can u at least give me a hint of what could be before i take this damn thing out and throw it in the garbage ... :-) i can pay u an additional fee if necessary - via paypal ..... no problem -- just want this thing to function ...... rick
Pete Dowson Posted August 29, 2011 Report Posted August 29, 2011 hi pete .... therefor its my problem now ??!! ;-( No Saitek's. They've obviously got some bug. Why not use their support? It is their device, not mine! Why do you think it's anything to do with FSUIPC? There's nothing in the INI referring to the device, and the error is not in FSUIPC. can u at least give me a hint of what could be before i take this damn thing out and throw it in the garbage Sorry, I've no idea what they've done. How could I even guess? If they'd have agreed I would have added Saitek support just as I did with GoFlight and VRInsight. But as it is there is nothing specific for Saitek devices in FSUIPC. Pete
Pete Dowson Posted August 29, 2011 Report Posted August 29, 2011 BTW, just in case it makes a difference, try the latest Interim update, 3.997p, in the Download Links subforum. Pete
Rickda Posted August 30, 2011 Author Report Posted August 30, 2011 hi pete... will do ... will also get on saiteks nervs... ;-) cheers .. rick
Rickda Posted August 30, 2011 Author Report Posted August 30, 2011 hey pete ... rick again.... is there anything like a detailes description how to professionally configure fsuipc with fs9 ?? am having problems that some changes i make in the fs9 joystick-settings config are not saved and are as before whenever i load a flight again .... ??!! i think i make something wrong but io am too new to this ...... :-( cheers ,,,, rick
Rickda Posted August 30, 2011 Author Report Posted August 30, 2011 ok ... found it in the subfolder rick
Pete Dowson Posted August 30, 2011 Report Posted August 30, 2011 ok ... found it in the subfolder Yes, all the documentation and other useful stuff is placed in the FSUIPC Documents subfolder, as stated, with a list, in the short Installation guide in the original ZIP. I suppose no one really reads those things. :-( Pete
Rickda Posted August 30, 2011 Author Report Posted August 30, 2011 hi pete... just talked to saitek tech engineer.... he stated that the multi-switch-panel for fs9 only works with fsuipc for fs9 ........ ;-) ......... seems like i am running into some problems here....... they gave me an instruction do de-install their drivers now and check the whole computer for any saitek folders etc... even in the registry ..... after that they want me to re-install the drivers and sst-software again and it should work w/o any problems ...... i will do that now and see....... well .... i dont know.........what will come next !!! HELP! rgds ... rick
Pete Dowson Posted August 30, 2011 Report Posted August 30, 2011 he stated that the multi-switch-panel for fs9 only works with fsuipc for fs9 ........ ;-) ......... Blatant commercial use without paying any fees. Not nice of them. They are the only ones I've ever had such problems with! If they were legitimate users I'd ask them to sort out their problems with me. But I can't help illegitimate usage I'm afraid, and I can't afford legal action. Regards Pete
Rickda Posted August 30, 2011 Author Report Posted August 30, 2011 means that if i cant get this thing running i have to throw in the trash..... thats a very very frustrating fact.................... rick
Pete Dowson Posted August 30, 2011 Report Posted August 30, 2011 means that if i cant get this thing running i have to throw in the trash..... thats a very very frustrating fact..... If Saitek don't know what is wrong with their driver, tell them to contact me. I'd be grateful for someone there to -- they don't respond to my requests to sort this mess out. Regards Pete
Rickda Posted August 31, 2011 Author Report Posted August 31, 2011 hi pete ...... saitek definitely replied (open ticket there) that they are unable to help me due to not aware how fsuipc works...... there is no solution for this ........ and they only guarantee that their panels work with fsx not fs9.......... any ideas of what could be done in order to make this thing work without any crashes ?? rick
Rickda Posted August 31, 2011 Author Report Posted August 31, 2011 just realised another problerm ..... everytime i do change values in my joystick or keyboard assignments in fs9 and save them the next time i load fs9 its not the same again - almost all settings are default !! does this have to do with fsuipc or the device.cfg ?? how can i specify that only fsuipc is responsible for joystick settings etc...?? many many thanks for help... rick
Pete Dowson Posted August 31, 2011 Report Posted August 31, 2011 any ideas of what could be done in order to make this thing work without any crashes ?? Only other idea is as in my reply to the thread "Saitek Multipanel in FSUIPC", near here. just realised another problerm ..... everytime i do change values in my joystick or keyboard assignments in fs9 and save them the next time i load fs9 its not the same again - almost all settings are default !! does this have to do with fsuipc or the device.cfg ?? Sounds like FS9 is not terminating correctly, but crashing instead. It re-writes its CFG file on termination. Try loading it, setting your needs, then terminating it immediately. how can i specify that only fsuipc is responsible for joystick settings etc...?? Turn joysticks off in FS9 and assign and calibrate everything in FSUIPC. Pete
