Kevin Carey Posted September 30, 2011 Report Posted September 30, 2011 Good day Pete, I am assisting my flight school with a simulator setup. The details include: - MS FS 2004 - Windows ME - FSUIPC 3.99 (bundled with WideFS) purchased earlier today I have run the "Install FSUIPC" application which advises FSUIPC.DLL Version 3.99 installed in FS9 Okay! I don't get the pop-up to register however. I have confirmed that the .ini and .dll files are in the FS9 modules folder. I have also copied the wideserver.exe and wideserver.ini files in the modules folder. I had gone as far as to create the FSUIPC.key file and enter the details as per the email received subsequent to purchase earlier today. When I run FS9 (MS FS 2004), I get the following error: "Flight Simulator was unable to load some aircraft or software. You can continue using Flight Simulator but this software or software will be disabled. File. FSUIPC.DLL" The installer log contents: Installer for FSUIPC.DLL version 3.99 Looking in registry for FS9.1 install path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\FlightSimulator\9.1 Parameter"EXE Path" Not there, so looking in: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\FlightSimulator\9.1 Parameter"EXE Path" ... Pete Dowson Posted September 30, 2011 Report Posted September 30, 2011 I am assisting my flight school with a simulator setup. The details include: - MS FS 2004 - Windows ME - FSUIPC 3.99 (bundled with WideFS) purchased earlier today Windows ME? Good grief. I very much doubt in 3.99 has much chance of working on such an antique operating system, and most certainly WideFS will not. I'm afraid I just cannot support anything earlier than Windows XP these days. Sorry for the bad news. I've not heard of anyone using such an old Windows version for many years. I'm surprised FS9 works with ME! After all FS9 came out in late 2003, almost three years after Windows XP. BTW Windows ME was a mistake, a really bad version. I skipped that -- Windows 98 was far better, but both were demolished by XP in 2001. And that is now over ten years ago! Regards Pete
