Dear FSUIPC Team,

The Problem:

I follow the disscussion on Installing FSUIPC with Windows7 and FSX. [1]

I have similar problems + I do not know how to get WideFs server component to run.

The network is properly configured. Firewall has been deactived for test purposes. Host with FSX and FSUIPC 4.75 is running on Windows7 64bit. WideFS7 (clients) are running on Vista and XP telling: "no connection". (Even with proper IP hardcoded to clients` ini file)

We still need to purchase keys to the full version of your program, however you claim in the FSUIPC userguiedes for demo this should work.

The next main issue: After installing FSUPIC (latest = 4.7) the components are all correctly in FSX`s module folder. On FSX access is granted to your modules. Now in FSX there is not such thing as an upper menu. And pressing "ALT" does not make it visible.

If there is any GUI with the FSUIPC WideFS server component how am i supposed to acccess it?

My Motivation:

My job is to configure the Hardware and software to run in a homecockpit. I will not fly myself, I am just the technician to set it all up. As far as I understood with WideFs client I can position all the aviator panels on client PC`s screen (where client has no FSX installed).

While today hardware is very efficient, I plan to use 1 (or maximum 2 host that join same aircraft in LAN game). We have a multi-core (dual or quad) CPU with an Nvidia 2GB graphic card and matrox [2] to join three mointors.

Eventaually, we should come up with a solution like this. [3] (on the youtube clip there 7 screens for FSX (3 front, 2 side each) and the aviator panels. (For the FSX scenery maybe we will need two more graphic cards and 2Virtual hosts to display the graphic via LAN - BTW what is the difference in using a LAN game or applying the WideView)

What we have now:

So far we have a working FSX on windows7 host, another FSX on a Windows Vista (win7 sees LAN session of vista`s game, but cannot join). FSUIPC4.7 demo that we do not know how to access (see "The Problem" obove). And a client with WideFs7 telling that it cannot connect

I appriciate any help. Of course, we share the documantion on how we build the homecockpit afterwards.

Greets,

Adam

Please never say "similar problems". They rarely are.

No, there is no "demo" mode for WideFS. you need to purchase it. There's no demo mode for any of my FS programs -- only either free use or purchase. You will not read anything about any demo modes in any of my documentation.

What's an "upper menu"?

If the normal in-flight menu bar is not being made visible in FSX when you press ALT, then your FSX installation is severely broken. The menu is the place where you can do all sorts of things in FS, such as select and change options, view the Map, select views and so on. It isn't specific to FSUIPC, is it an essential part of FS as it has been in every version since the original Bruce Artwick one.

Hi Pete,

thanks for quick response.

What's an "upper menu"?

When you start FSX there is this main window (ca 640x480px, ActiveX or some Widget window, where you choose "new game", "Network" etc..) in guide you wrote I can bring up menu by pressing "ALT". I see this probalby refer to some "in game" menu.

I will advise the person in charge to purchase licences and we will make a new test case. I take you briefed about the progress.

Greets,

Adam

Sounds like you've never actually run FS before? Best to get used to FS before worrying about adding things like FSUIPC.

The menu bar in FS is just like the Menu bar in 99% of all other Windows programs, but, like in other programs, it isn't accessible until the program is running. The screen you are talking about is an initial selection dialogue and cannot have a menu bar.
