Hi there,

I'm using FSX with VRS Superbug F18.

For some reason, FSUIPC (registered version) is not overriding the FSX settings. If I remove the settings in FSX, then the settings I use in FSUIPC are used.

Unfortunately I now have a "funny" issue whereby my contast knobs of my MFD (Thrustmaster Cougar) not only decreases or increases the contrast, but also lowers or retracts my landing gear :-((((.

I don't see a setting for a joystick (knob) in FSX settings.

Any idea what I am doing wrong? I just don't find it :-(

What must I do, so FSUIPC takes "Full Controll" if set so in buttons & Switches.

Many thanks for your help!

Cheers,

Eddie

What "settings"? FSUIPC can only override keypresses. It does that by intercepting the Windows keyboard messages. It cannot ever override joystick controls or buttons because anythings can freely read those.

You must not have buttons or axes assigned both in FS and in FSX unless you want both actions at once. All this is made clear in the manuals.

Hi pete,

Many thanks for your quick response!

I removed the button assignments in FSX for the thrustmaster Cougar (in the FSX settings tab), but it still does 2 things:

1. I assigned via FSUIPC a mcro (1VRS_LDDI) L:BCBGM Inc - It works fine but also

2. It retracts the gear. - which I don'twant by this buttonpress.

I have no clue where that comes from, since I deleted the button assignment in FSX.

Did I miss someting here?

Is there a way to find out where this assignment comes from?

Many thanks for your help!

Cheers,

Eddie

You evidently do have two assignments to that button. If you have one in FSUIPC you couldn't have added another without editing the FSUIPC INI (settings) file -- FSUIPC does allow multiple settings but only by manual editing, not via the dialogue. I suspect you have one in FSX which you missed. To check this simply disable all controllers in FSX -- if that fixes it, then the other assignment is there somewhere, and either you missed it or FS has sneakily reassigned it. (It will do auto-reassignments if you do things like disconnect and reconnect controllers).

If it is neither of those then you would have to look at other software. Maybe there's a Thrustmaster driver doing it, or some other add-on?
