Pete Dowson Posted April 23, 2012 Report Posted April 23, 2012 FSX crashes all the time after intalling FSUIPC4 and WideFS. Please help. I can provide more information you may need to help me with this. Well, you've provided no relevant information at all, yet. The hardware isn't relevant because FSUIPC/WideServer aren't hardware drivers. What osrt of crash is it ... what happens, when does it happen, what information does it supply, does it happen without WideFS operating, what version of FSUIPC is it, what version of WideClient, what version of FSX, what version of Windows, and where are the logs to show me -- FSUIPC4 log, Installer log, WideServer log, WideClient log? Regards Pete
keko FS Posted April 23, 2012 Author Report Posted April 23, 2012 Hi Pete, Thanks for your prompt response. I will get all the info you are requesting. Thank you for being patient with me, I'm new in all this. Regards, Keko
keko FS Posted April 29, 2012 Author Report Posted April 29, 2012 Hello Pete, First of all I want to let everyone know that I’m not a computer savvy and it is very possible that the FSX crashes are the result of something wrong I’m doing. These are the softwares’ specifications: Microsoft Flight Simulator X Gold Edition. I installed disks 1 and 2 in the C drive in a folder called FSX. I did not install the Acceleration Expansion pack disk. Window 7 64-bit FSUIPC Version 4.81. It created a folder "Modules" inside FSX. WideClient Version 7.81 I bought it all together with FSUIPC. WideClient is been disabled from the FSUIPC Options and Settings screen in FSX. I think I do not need it, just bought it as part of the bundle you offer. WideClient Version 6.94. FYI I’m keeping the WideFS unzip folder with all its content in PC1 and copied the WideClient.exe and WideClient.ini files on PC2. But again, I’m not using it. Should I? There is no a particular behavior that makes FSX crash. Most of the times when you just start the computer it will let you fly for a couple of times with different airplanes with no problems. The only issue at this point will be that I cannot make the pitch trim-wheel to work properly. I am using the pitch trim-wheel in the Saitek multipanel. Then I visit the FSUIPC Options and Settings from the FSX screen - Tab "Joystick Calibration" - Option "6 of 11: Trim, spoilers and flaps" it recognizes the flaps in the right two blocks of the screen and lists the airplane name in the lower right corner, but do not recognize the Elevator Trim in the upper left block. I move it up and down but nothing happened. Any suggestions? Back to FSX crashes. So, you fly for a few times and all the sudden FSX crashes and the screen goes away. After the first crash it will get worse and will be very difficult to fly again. Sometimes the FSX screen will even disappear after finishing loading the selected fly. Again, there is no a particular behavior or an specific moment that will make FSX to crash. It will just stop working at any time. Also, if I'm flying and want to finish the fly it goes to the FSX "Free Flight" screen and then the program immediately shuts down by itself. As I mentioned in my first post I have two PC's. PC1 works with FSX and FsXPand. PC2 works with FsClient. However, the above described FSX crashes are just when flying with PC1, no even starting PC2 for the glass cockpit. The below logs pertain to the first fly of the day using FSX on PC1 (did not turn PC2 on). I flew for a few minutes and when in final approach FSX crashed. Pete Dowson Posted April 29, 2012 Report Posted April 29, 2012 Microsoft Flight Simulator X Gold Edition. I installed disks 1 and 2 in the C drive in a folder called FSX. I did not install the Acceleration Expansion pack disk. FSUIPC Version 4.81. It created a folder "Modules" inside FSX. Version 4.81 is not compatible with FSX RTM or SP1. You should update to the currently supported version of FSUIPC. Please see all the usual websites. You must have downloaded 4.81 some time ago. Current is 4.827. You can get it also from the Download Links subforum here. You should in any case either install the FSX updates or Acceleration. they fix a lot of bgs. Regards Pete
keko FS Posted April 30, 2012 Author Report Posted April 30, 2012 Hi Pete, I did all you said and it resolved the problems. Now I'm flying and FSX is not crashing. Thanks a lot for your help. Still learning, so I'll get back to you if something else comes up. Regards, Keko..... :)
