Profile specific button assignment conflict?

Good morning from freezing Albuquerque, NM.

Running the registered version of FSUIPC v. 4.859m and am having an issue with a button assignment based on a specific aircraft profile.

Assignment went easy, Load up aircraft with specific profile I wanted to modify, click button assignment tab, click on profile specific box and make my assignment. (Hotas joystick button to toggle prop deice) Hit OK and tried the assignment in FSX.. nothing.. I went back into FSUIPC - Button assignment tab and clicked the button to verify I have the assignment set. Nothing.. (Profile specific box unchecked) click the profile specific box and try the button again and the assignment shows as I had set it correctly. it seems as if there may be a conflict of some sort with the profile specific button assignment tab saving to the specific profile..

The only time I've seen anything like this is when SimConnect is supplying no name for the aircraft, so its profile can't be referenced. This afflicted an A2A aircraft user, and has only been reported just recently. The thread won't be far below.

Can you give any more information? Like the FSUIPC4.LOG file? And maybe show me the INI file. You can paste both into a message here -- easier than uploading.

Hope I did that right... I was loaded in the aircraft I am having problems with. The Harrier profile is active when I verify the axis assignment tab, but when I go back to button assignments tab, I can click and unclick the profile specific box. When I click the profile box, Harrier comes up on the top bar and the button assignments specific to the harrier are shown when buttons pressed, but I can also unclick the box.. (Harrier disappears) and assignments change back to non-profile specific button clicks.. Assignments are being saved but I'm not being forced to adhere to profile specific button assignments. Seems the button assignment profile box defaults to unchecked when I switch between tabs.
