Peter I Nielsen Posted April 11, 2013 Report Posted April 11, 2013 Hi Pete, I usually run FSX with 5 clients and at times i see that WIDESERVER is counting 12, 25, 22 up to 52 clients.. it does not seem to slow anything down though. Any idea why this would be, I presume it is a network issue, is this something to worry about? Peter
Pete Dowson Posted April 11, 2013 Report Posted April 11, 2013 I usually run FSX with 5 clients and at times i see that WIDESERVER is counting 12, 25, 22 up to 52 clients.. it does not seem to slow anything down though. Any idea why this would be, I presume it is a network issue, is this something to worry about? Yes, I would be very concerned. It happens because the timeout for a stalled connection is longer at the server than on the client. So the client sees no data from the server for many seconds and tries to reconnect, the server clocks up the new connection but doesn't discard the old one for a while longer. Look at the logs, Wideclient and WideServer. Maybe it is only one of the clients and not one you've bothered about for some reason? Regards Pete
