Pete Dowson Posted May 5, 2013 Report Posted May 5, 2013 I have a new fsuipc490 installed and I want him Registering with my 12 reg key number and he says this is not good what to do? Did you register before, if so why again? You never need to register again except on another PC. If this is the first time, then you are making a mistake. -- all three parts must be correct. Use cut-and-paste, as advised, if you aren't sure. Pete
andrewcl Posted May 5, 2013 Report Posted May 5, 2013 Hi Pete, I had the same problem because my email is out of date. I put my new email address in but of course it did not match the key file. OK when I put the old, now defunct one, back in. I only wanted to re register to update my email. If I edit the key file to my new email, will that then work?

No, you MUST use the email you originally purchased the KEY with. The KEY is inextricably related to your name and email, exactly as stated. That can not be changed and never needs to be changed. Pete
andrewcl Posted May 6, 2013 Report Posted May 6, 2013 OK fine by me but that email no longer works as an email address. I trust that this will not cause you any problems.

It's never used as an email address. It could be a home address or a company registration. It's only part of the way used to tie the key to you uniquely. Name alone is often not sufficient. Pete
