There should be no change at all from the previous version. What did you update from? The so-called graying out only stops assignments to non-existent axes -- it needs to actually detect them to assign to them! They are simply inactive till then, obviously. FSUIPC sees exactly the same devices in exactly the same way as FS itself. And it hasn't been changed since FSUIPC4 was first released in 2006. It sounds like your devices are not seen by Windows. Please check Windows game controllers, and see if FS itself sees them. Pete
Jimmyl Posted August 23, 2013 Author Report Posted August 23, 2013 Hi Pete Thank you for your quick reply, I updated from version 4.74 to 4.91, I have gone back and enabled the controllers in FSX, all work I checked in the Control Panel and all the devices are there. I have unplugged all and plugged them back in, all work in FSX, but they are still Grayed out in FSUIPC Regards Jimmy

Did you carry forward your INI file from 4.74 days? A lot has probably changed in two years. If so, can you try renaming it so a default is created? Let me know. If it then works, please paste the older FSUIPC4.INI into a message here and I'll take a look to see how that might happen. Oh,either way please paste the LOG file too (All files are in the FSX Modules folder). Also please tell me what version of Windows you are using. Unfortunately I'm out all day tomorrow so I may not respond so quickly. Regards Pete
Jimmyl Posted August 25, 2013 Author Report Posted August 25, 2013 Hi Pete Problem Solved..........What I done was this, I renamed everything in the Modules folder that was called FSUIPC. Then I reloaded Version 4.74, ran FSX and everything was working fine. Rebooted FSX. Just to check, everything good as gold Then I reloaded Version 4.91, ran FSX and again everything worked fine. Rebooted FSX and everything was doing what is was supposed to do. I guess when I first loaded Version 4.91 in I Stuffed it up somehow. Sorry to have bothered you I have been using FSUIPC since 2006, It's a Great Program. Thank you very much for you advice and help. Regards Jimmy

Sounds like it was something in the FSUIPC4.INI file, because having deleted it you had a new one created from default. There's nothing else likely to have the effects you describe. This is why I said this to you in my last message: Did you carry forward your INI file from 4.74 days? A lot has probably changed in two years. If so, can you try renaming it so a default is created? Let me know. If it then works, please paste the older FSUIPC4.INI into a message here and I'll take a look to see how that might happen. It is a shame you've now presumably lost the INI file which was giving the problem, because I would have liked to have seen it so that I could take steps in future to deal with such problems automatically. Regards Pete
