pjfiske Posted December 18, 2013 Report Posted December 18, 2013 Hi Pete, Ima die hard fan of your products and FSUIPC. Recently I have been updating to the latest versions (the most recent today 12/13 FSUIPC V 4.927a. I have been experiencing, since these updates the following Windows error and at the same time with my VAs acars stops working: FSUIPC_ERR_SENDMSG. " error sending message to fsuipc " I have contacted our VA so they can research what the issue is between FSUIPC and our acars. I have also checked the FSUIPC log which is below. I notice that simconnect stopped working during the flight...wondering if this may be part of the issue. Log is below. Would appreciate any guidance. I am running W7 on a 64 bit OS. All has been working dandy until this point. Thanks for your help. Pete Dowson Posted December 18, 2013 Report Posted December 18, 2013 Recently I have been updating to the latest versions (the most recent today 12/13 FSUIPC V 4.927a From which version did you update? I have been experiencing, since these updates the following Windows error and at the same time with my VAs acars stops working: FSUIPC_ERR_SENDMSG. " error sending message to fsuipc " If that program is written well such errors should not actually stop it working. If it did then any temporary stoppage of SimConnect returns to fSUIPC would effectively kill it. Looking at your log that is what appears to be the case. 6686437 **** No SimConnect events or states being received! Re-connecting now ... **** 6686546 SimConnect_Open succeeded: waiting to check version okay 6686546 Running in "Microsoft Flight Simulator X", Version: 10.0.61472.0 (SimConnect: 10.0.61259.0) 6686546 Initialising SimConnect data requests now 6686546 FSUIPC Menu entry added 6686546 C:\Users\pjfiske\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\Previous flight.FLT 6686764 System time = 18/12/2013 11:39:27, Simulator time = 09:30:08 (16:30Z) 15102722 Sim stopped: average frame rate for last 8416 secs = 39.7 fps It looks like you had a clean run for an hour and a half before the above problem arose. The error there is that SimConnect did not send any data updates for over the time allowed. That can be adjusted (SimConnectStallTime in the INI file), and defaults to 1 second. SimConnect may take longer than this, but it certainly shouldn't because a lot of the data needed updates every frame -- 30 times a second for example. But in this case extending it to, say, 2 seconds may allow things to continue better because I see, again from the log, that after the error the session recovered and continued without error for another two hours and 20 minutes! pjfiske Posted December 19, 2013 Author Report Posted December 19, 2013 Hi Pete, Thanks for the reply. I upgraded to 4.927a from the latest version right before that whatever it was - cant remember the number but I think it was the November version. I try to stay on top of it. So as I understand I need to adjust the time in the SimConnect stall time ini file correct? Im having trouble locating that sim connect file. Thanks again. PJ
Pete Dowson Posted December 19, 2013 Report Posted December 19, 2013 So as I understand I need to adjust the time in the SimConnect stall time ini file correct? Im having trouble locating that sim connect file. The INI file is called FSUIPC4.INI and is in your FS Modules folder, next to FSUIPC! It would be better to find the cause of the FSX overload which is giving the problem in the first place. Allowing more time for things to stall is only as an experiment or stop-gap. Pete
pjfiske Posted December 19, 2013 Author Report Posted December 19, 2013 Hi Pete - update First thanks for the location of the file. Next, I heard from my VA they are updating our ACARS program by tomorrow and claim the issue will be resolved as it looks like this is part of the issue with our ACARS interfacing with simconnect/FSUIPC. I will report back! PJ
pjfiske Posted December 27, 2013 Author Report Posted December 27, 2013 Hi pete, Hope u had agreat vacation. Looks like the issue was an ACARS issue on the VA end. All is well now. Thanks again. PJ
