garymcginnis Posted January 2, 2014 Report Posted January 2, 2014 Hello, When I select "Apply vis limits" within FSUIPC (3.999z8 but this have occurred with other versions as well) all the sudden the outside will go completely grey every so often. I have played with all the settings I can think of and still have no luck. My most current attempt with this feature was with the following settings: 2500 / 2000 / 2000 / 1000. I've tried many combinations with no luck. Could you please help me? The only way that gets rid of the occasional "graying out" is when I leave it unchecked but then FS doesn't look as great and the cloud transition seems a bit funny (it goes from "hazy" to really clear around 3000' with this setting off and on clear days or I can see the airport at 4000-5000' but then descend into low visibility and completely lose the airport around 3000' ). Weather engine: ASv6.5 Flight Simulator: FS9.1 Just hoping for some help. I've been living with it and tweaking as best as I can but kind of lost at this point and getting annoyed! alaxus Posted January 4, 2014 Report Posted January 4, 2014 I have had this issue as well, but for the life of me I cant remember how I fixed it. It was a while ago now. That said, my current setup I let AS6.5 do all the weather work not FSUIPC, the only thing I have FUSIPC doing is the taxi wind control. If I recall AS6.5 has some sort of a guide to setup FSUIPC, ie which check boxes to tick etc. I think you have to use one or the other as I think they conflict somehow. I still have this issue that you mentioned: when I leave it unchecked but then FS doesn't look as great and the cloud transition seems a bit funny (it goes from "hazy" to really clear around 3000' with this setting off and on clear days or I can see the airport at 4000-5000' but then descend into low visibility and completely lose the airport around 3000' ). Maybe someone else has a few ideas or fixes.
xcorez Posted January 6, 2014 Report Posted January 6, 2014 Have you tried to reset the FSUIPC.INI ?It seems your INI contains some duplicated and/or corrupted parameters. ..MinimumVisibility=0MaximumVisibilityFewClouds=0MaximumVisibility=0MaximumVisibility=0MaximumVisibility=0OneCloudLayer=NoThinClouds=NoThinThunderClouds=NoCloudThinness=1000CloudThinness=1000......MaximumVisibilityOvercast=0MaximumVisibilityRainy=0ThunderCloudThinness=10000 The same paramaters in my FSUIPC.INI shown as : .. MinimumVisibility=1 MaximumVisibility=2000 MaximumVisibilityFewClouds=6000 MaximumVisibilityOvercast=2000 MaximumVisibilityRainy=1000 OneCloudLayer=No ThinClouds=No ThinThunderClouds=No CloudThinness=1000 ThunderCloudThinness=10000 .. I do recommend to rename your current FSUIPC.INI (ex. FSUIPC_BACKUP.INI) in the Module folder. FSUIPC will automatically create a new INI with initial default settings. Check the above parameters related to the visibility setting. If it works okay, you can copy the rest of parameters back from your backup INI.Regards,-xcorez-
