ads1080 Posted December 30, 2014 Report Posted December 30, 2014 Hi Pete, Hope you are enjoying your Christmas holidays...when you have the time I'm hoping you can review an issue I am having. Despite having run P3D V2.4 numerous times I keep getting the following error when trying to install the latest version of FSUIPC: *** Problem! Cannot edit the Prepar3d DLL.XML file to activate FSUIPC. Please make sure you run Prepar3D at least once before installing FSUIPC. *** Even after running the installer again after starting P3D I still get the same result. I have acopied my install log below for your reference, I hope you can help here! *** Installer for FSUIPC4.DLL version 4.938a Looking in registry for FSX install path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator\10.0 Parameter"SetupPath" Not there, so looking in: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator\10.0 Parameter"AppPath" ... Pete Dowson Posted January 5, 2015 Report Posted January 5, 2015 There's no problem with the Prepar3Dv2 installation. It is working fine The failure is for the Prepar3D (version 1) installation! This is because the Registry points to your Prepar3Dv2 path for both Prepar3D and Prepar3Dv2, see: Looking in registry for Prepar3D install path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\LockheedMartin\Prepar3D Parameter"SetupPath" ... >>> OK! FOUND Prepar3D! <<< ... SetupPath=D:\Games\Prepar3D v2 Looking in registry for Prepar3D v2 install path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2 Parameter"SetupPath" ... >>> OK! FOUND Prepar3D v2! <<< ... SetupPath=D:\Games\Prepar3D v2\ Maybe you deleted your Prepar3D installation rather than uninstalled it, or maybe the uninstaller doesn't work very well? Either way there is no harm except for the error message, which is irrelevant if you no longer have Prepar3D version 1. If you want to fix the Registry, just delete the Prepar3d entries, i.e. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\LockheedMartin\Prepar3D Pete
