Hi Pete

I am now a fully fledged member of British Airways Virtual so am now using the Phoenix client for Pireps.

I have however had, since installing FSUIPC a stutter every 5 seconds when using the new Aerosoft Airbus. When I removed the DLL from the FSUIPC folder (to not use FSUIPC) the stutter disappears. I would greatly like to get to the bottom of this small niggle as I would love to use FSUIPC full time in conjunction with BAV Phoenix and maybe also set up my controls via it. At present I 'enable' FSUIPC by putting back the DLL when I need to use it for BAV.

Background:

FSX with ASN weather (although the same without the weather engine)

Intel i7 3770k overclocked to 4.5Ghz

256Gb SSD for FSX and 256Gb for Win 7 Home 64bit

GTX680 2Gb

It doesn't matter where I am or what weather I use, in the Aerosoft Airbus I get this stutter in all views. I don't have the Flight Recorder switched on and have investigated many avenues to see what is causing it to stutter constantly every 5 seconds. It doesn't happen within any of the FSX stock aircraft? I understand the Aerosoft Airbus is certainly a more complex simulation, and if its just the limitations of my system then so be it, however I wanted to seek support from you before I give up and just put up with it?

Is there any possible explanation for this issue and if you would like log files etc I would be happy to provide them?

Many thanks for taking the time to consider this query.

Do you get this when BAV is not being used? Is BAV the only application using FSUIPC? Do you get it with other aircraft or only that one?

There is nothing in FSUIPC which is on a 5 second cycle. But please do check the FSUIPC4 log file and see if any problems or failures are listed. If SimConnect is jamming up and being re-initialised regularly this could certainly cause a stutter.

Hi Pete,

Apologies for the delay in getting back to you!

I only need to use FSUIPC for BAV Phoenix connection. It does stutter however as soon as I 'enable' or paste the FSUIPC.dll back in to its folder without running the Phoenix client. It does only seem apparent in the Aerosoft Airbus series so whether or not the complexities of the sim is causing the stutter? I have tried with 'stock' aircraft and all seems ok. I have checked the Flight Recorder is disabled in the Aerosoft MCDU as I thought this may be polling something, cannot see anywhere else where there could be an issue.

Please could you advise how I create and interrogate a log file to look for the SimConnect issue?

Many thanks

I said "do check the FSUIPC4 log file"! You don't need to do anything. Just run, get the stutter, close down, find the FSUIPC4.LOG file in the FS Modules folder, and paste it into a message here.

Well there's no Simconnect reconnects, so FSUIPC itslef isn't stuttering nor even seeing one. The actual flying time started after where it says "Advanced weather interface enabled". Are the Stops due to you going into menus or similar? If not are they about the right times for the stutters? (the numbers on the left are elapsed milliseconds, so the "stops" occurred at 8.4, 78 and 109 seconds into the flight. FSUIPC logs those when Simconnect tells it the Sim is stopped.

It looks like you didn't close FS before getting the log, so something's I might be able to see are missing. However, at present it all points to something the aircraft is doing.

Hi Pete,

Further to my previous post, please see comparative log files for the FSX Microlight and the Aerosoft Airbus A319. As you will see there doesn't seem to be any issue appearing in the log file? It is still stuttering every 4-5 seconds in the Airbus A319, more noticeable when in turns.

Both instances look perfect as far as FSUIPC is concerned. The performance (30 fps or close) was maintained well in both cases and there are no stops.

I think the Airbus has the problem. Maybe there's something it doesn't like about the options or assignments you have in FSUIPC?

Sorry, I think you need to do to the Airbus support forum.

Hi Pete,

Thanks for looking at this, it is much appreciated. I will check with Aerosoft regards this issue. I have nothing switched on or assigned in FSUIPC, all controllers are assigned via FSX, as mentioned I only need FSUIPC to run the BAV Phoenix tool.

Thank you again for your input... I will get to the bottom of this!
