Ruivers2 Posted February 4, 2015 Report Posted February 4, 2015 My full cockpit Prosim setup has been working flawlessy for years with FS9. The reason I have been using, and still are, FS9, is a 5 monitor view setup that did no good with FSX. P3D is running with a lot less FPS than FS9, but still runs quite well. But I have a problem with a second PC, running all MIP displays wich freezes every 2 seconds. And this is not the case with FS9. Could this be caused by a the different FSUIPC versions? Are there any differences in communication for the the teo versions. I have the jan. 15th version for P3D. Or are there any other good ideas out there?

Are there any differences in communication for the the teo versions. I have the jan. 15th version for P3D. It certainly isn't FSUIPC.and it seems to be more a question for the Prosim team. However, I am using Prosim too. Not tried with P3D yet (I don't like it at present, though it is getting better). I found that Prosim with the new FSX-SE gave dreadful 1-2 second pauses in ProsimDisplays, at regular intervals, on the separate PCs. The only solution for me was to run the main Prosim737.EXE program on one of the other PCs, NOT the FS PC. Smooth as silk then! Marty, author of Prosim, released last night version 1.42b3, in which he says he has recoded the parts which he thinks might be responsible for this. I have it here for a re-test this afternoon. Maybe you'd like to try that, too, if moving the EXE to a different PC doesn't help? BTW, what's the "Jan 15th" version of P3D? Which year? They do have version numbers! Do you mean version 2.4 or are you Beta testing 2.5? Pete
Ruivers2 Posted February 4, 2015 Author Report Posted February 4, 2015 Okay Pete, thank you. Why I was thinking of FSUIPC as the problem, is that it is the only thing different between my two sim setups. And it do take care of communication between P3D and Prosim, doesn't it? (I ment the jan 9th version of FSUIPC, by the way) My thought was that it doesn't care for Prosim which sim is in the other end. But I have been wrong before :) But I do actually have a problem with FSUIPC in P3D, and that is calibrating my controls. They work flawlessly in FS9, but when I switch sim and FSUIPC version, they are very difficult to calibrate. Both Steering tiller and Ailerons will not center correctly. I have to hold them to the right of center to set the centerpoint for the centerpoint to be right when they are in center. Did that make sence? Best regards Rune
Ruivers2 Posted February 4, 2015 Author Report Posted February 4, 2015 Sorry, I forgot: Of course, I will check the new Prosim version, and also eventually try moving the Prosim server to another PC. Rune

(I ment the jan 9th version of FSUIPC, by the way) My thought was that it doesn't care for Prosim which sim is in the other end. But I have been wrong before :) The difference in ProSim performance, when it is run on the same PC as FSX or FSX-SE (with the same version of FSUIPC) is very significant. Prosim was never really smooth even with FSX, but with FSX-SE it was awful -- 1 second pauses every 3 seconds on all displays. Ugh. But when Prosim is on a WideFS client PC is is gorgeously smooth. I don't know why I didn't try it before. Really nice now. But I do actually have a problem with FSUIPC in P3D, and that is calibrating my controls. I have to hold them to the right of center to set the centerpoint for the centerpoint to be right when they are in center. Did that make sence? There's nothing FSUIPC can do to make that happen. It sounds like they aren't properly calibrated in Windows. That's the starting point. Also if you are assigning in FSUIPC (you don't say if you assign in P3D or in FSUIPC) you must disable controllers altogether in P3D. Of course, I will check the new Prosim version, and also eventually try moving the Prosim server to another PC. I just tested 1.42b3 this afternoon, and I'm afraid it is no better. I've already told Marty. Looks like I'm keeping it on the WideFS client PC. As I said, I should have done that long ago! Pete
