ME Paquette Posted July 19, 2015 Report Posted July 19, 2015 Pete I am in the process of setting up my new computer and I wish to transfer all my FSUIPC setup from my old computer to my new one. Is there just a file I can transfer, or do I have to go thru all the axis assignment and buttons assignment on the new computer? Michel E Paquette
spokes2112 Posted July 20, 2015 Report Posted July 20, 2015 Save your FSUIPC4.key & FSUPC4.ini from the old installation (FSX/Modules), place them in the new FS setup (FSX/Modules) then reinstall FSUIPC (newest version)
ME Paquette Posted July 20, 2015 Author Report Posted July 20, 2015 Roman I have done what you suggest, and even though when I open the INI file, it seems like the profiles are all there, but there is something not working right since my yoke is not responsive. I seem to recall something about the fact that because I have some "aircraft specific" profile, I need to disable my joystick in FSX. Would this be correct, or am I missing a stip somewere. The other proof that my profile did transfer is that my "GPS OUT" profile are good and working file. Why is FSUIPC not recognizing my yoke and pedal? Michel
ME Paquette Posted July 20, 2015 Author Report Posted July 20, 2015 Never mind. I went to configuration screen and "RELOADED" key presses and axis assignments. Working fine now Michel
Sherman Kaplan Posted July 20, 2015 Report Posted July 20, 2015 I am not the expert on FSUIPC, but my understanding is that controllers should always be disabled within the FSX options menu Sherm
Ian P Posted July 21, 2015 Report Posted July 21, 2015 If an axis or button on a controller is assigned both through FSX and FSUIPC settings, then you'll get conflicts and problems. You can either remove all assignments, or disable the controller. Personally, I remove all assignments from FSX except those I want to use (I always have problems with hat switches through FSUIPC for some reason, so leave them assigned through FSX...) Ian P.
ME Paquette Posted July 22, 2015 Author Report Posted July 22, 2015 Ian Since I work with different profiles (one for planes and one for boats) I find it simpler to disable joystick In FSX. This way I won't get confused as to where the particular button is configured. As for the hat switch, I have no problem. Michel
